In the past Ralph Lauren has gone for a great deal of show in the design of the bottles, take safari, with the monogram and shield on a sculpted bottle, the sort of thing that looks not out of place on a sherry decanter. Romance however has a simple rectangular bottle, with a plain black top and only the band that attaches the diffuser to the bottle bears the name of the fragrance – minimalism adds to the simplicity yet exclusive nature ...

...black. It has the words RALPH LAUREN ROMANCE on the side which serves as a pretty big clue as to its contents. Other than the obligatory warnings about not using the product on broken skin or "not using the product for any purpose other than that for which it is intended!!!", there is nothing else of note on the smart packaging.
Once opened, inside you will find a rectangular bottle with a black "vaporisateur", or spray nozzle, and a black lid with ... ...when given as a present. Ralph Lauren also does a Romance for women which is my absolute favourite scent for a woman.

Not sure how much mine was at it was a gift but it is generally priced in the 25-30 pounds for 50ml range. There are a million and one other products like this on the market and all are priced in a similar bracket. I've tried a fair few but I'm very impressed by this spray.

The scent of Romance is ... ...feel great. I have had people ask me what this fragrance is. One occasion I was in a dry cleaners and when I was leaving a girl from the other side of the shop who worked there shouted over and asked what perfume I was wearing because she thought it was nice. It’s nice to get these compliments and you will get them with Romance for Men.

...think the designer's of the Ralph Lauren Romance fragrance bottle have lost out. Especially to comepetitors like Salvatore Feragamo and Lanvin that package their fragrances in stylish sleek looking bottles that also give your bathroom shelf the flash factor. If, however you do like simplicity this glass structure will definitely be a hit with you. The fragrance is a touch softer than what you would normally get as a men's cologne and I did like the ... ...Floral but not effeminate. It is strong enough to be recognised as a men's parfum yet the light hints of a floral scent make the frangrance very suited for men who want to come across as agressive yet sensitive. Now I feel as though I've written something for CKs Contradiction but I haven't. As for the girl-pull factor of this one... ... I bought it because I prefer smelling this fragrance on a man than the usual Bvlgari... ...

...cautious about fashion designers who release fragrances because usually there's loads of hype but the fragrance is awful. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH RALPH LAUREN!
