...hands?) I came across the Rapid White tooth whitening system. I’ve seen it before but never really been that interested, but with an excess of Advantage Points on my card just screaming to be used (does anyone ever manage to save them up for anything worthwhile?) I thought I’d give it a go.
The box I bought was the starter kit, which is quite small and contains enough product for a week (15 applications.)
Inside the box is a tube of whitening gel, ... ...will not be harmed by Rapid White. Rapid White works to whiten natural human teeth only. Do not use it while wearing dental braces (that was the companies ‘cautionary statement’ as pilfered straight off their web site…if you could actually get a dog to let you put a tray of gel into his mouth twice a day for a week then I’d be impressed, but even if you have a very obedient pooch, remember kids, don’t do it!!)

Out on another essential shopping trip my friend and me decide to boost up our club card points and splash the cash in our local boots store in Newport on the Isle of Wight. Amongst an array of goodies that was purchased that day was this superb smile shine kit!
I paid £19.99, which seems fairly steep but the package contains a fair few large tubes. There was also a trial size kit, which was ... ...Then get the Rapid White Accelerator and rub the padded end (make sure it's damp), rub it over all the front teeth that show when you smile.
This is the part where the gum shield gets stuck in your mouth for 5 to 10 minutes and to be honest I really didn't like having it in my mouth at all. It felt quite uncomfortable and I couldn't swallow easily. Most importantly I couldn't talk for 10 minutes, much to the joy of my boyfriend!

The Rapid White Tooth System contains 5 pieces of kit. First of all, a Professional Tooth Shade Guide, with a scale of tooth colours from brown to cream - hold this up to your teeth and compare!!! YUK!! Fortunately I was somewhere near the whiter end of the scale so maybe my teeth are not so bad after all. Use this to compare your before and after results.
In this pack there is also an accelerator liquid in a kind of pen, a tube ... ...kind of rubbery thing that fits over your teeth).
How to Use It!
After brushing your teeth gently, squeeze some whitening gel (about 1 gram) into the upper and lower sections of the mouthpiece. Next rub your teeth with the accelerator pen - warning - this tastes foul!!! Very salty - but if you don't put too much on you probably won't notice. If like me you've fought a coffee addiction for years, and indulged in one too many chocolates/cakes/cigarettes, and your teeth are not quite as white as snow, or they resemble the yellow brick road, then maybe it's time you gave this a try... At £19.95 a box, (I bought it from the boots website - www.wellbeing.com), it's not exactly a cheap alternative, but it is cheaper and more convenient than a trip to the dentist so it's worth a shot.

I bought the kit as an impulse purchase while browsing in boots. At the time I knew nothing about tooth whitening or what to look for when buying these products. I'm now quite aware of the warning signs I should have seen. Rapid White does not mention anywhere on the packet what active ingredient(s) it uses, nor concentrations. This usually means low concentrations ... ...make it less effective. The Rapid White was not stored in a cool environment in the shop, and the age was entirely unknown.
The kit itself contains a stick of salt solution which you apply to the teeth first, a plastic tray that does both upper and lower teeth at once, the mystry bleaching gel which is applied to the tray, and finally a tube of toothpaste to clean up at the end.

...the duplex tray with the Rapid White Gel, and I put it close to me so I I could grab it easily.
Then I put the Rapid White Accelerator pen provided in the box, and I put it on my teeth. I ws careful about not shutting my mouth and not removing this product from my teeth with my lips…and here is the moment when I put the tray in my mouth.
Here we go for 5 to 10 minutes! In fact I was a bit anxious about the results:-p What if my teeth had ... ...really glad I bought this Rapid White kit. Moreover, this treatment is ok for gentle and sensitive mouths and he does provide the “smile you’ve always wanted”!
I’ll add some notes later if I notice some more things in the future days,but as a first judgment, I’m happy with this product.

For the first time since my Tony the Tiger Toothbrush when I was five-years-old I was actually looking forward to brushing my teeth.
There was what looked like a gum shield and two tubes of “stuff” hmmm. Ok so far!. The applicator pen looked like glue though – I was already thinking what ... ...chompers from sticky hell.
I followed the instructions and put the first gel into the gum shield - or “mouth tray”and applied the accelerator pen to my teeth – trying hard not to close my mouth. It’s a bit like putting a Fruit Pastelle in your mouth (older readers) without chewing it.
I put the mouth tray in my mouth, bit hard and started to think of England, then how Aston Villa would do this season, then how I must buy those Pogues tickets. Then ...

The Rapid White system consists of an instruction manual, 12mls of Accelerator liquid, 35mls of Whitening Gel, 50mls of Whitening Toothpaste and a gum shield type device which places the whitening gel against your teeth. There is also a graduated display of tooth shades to show that the product is working. The only problem with this is its quite hard to work out which shade your teeth actually are as they are all so similar.
Here ... ...gum shield to enable all your top and bottom teeth to be covered adequately. One word of warning: a little goes a long way. When you put the gum shield on (we arent doing this yet though) the gel is still in the form as it came out of the sqeezey tube (like toothpaste) so when it is rammed against your teeth it flattens out and (if there is a lot of it) drips in your mouth. All very well if it tasted like chocolate but in fact IT DOES NOT TASTE GOOD! ...

This 'rapid whitening' system for teeth consists of 3 active components, with a mouthguard and instruction leaflet. It is nominally a way of gently whitening stained or yellowing teeth, that is not too expensive nor does it involve bleaching. The process can easily be carried out at home.
Preparation: you clean your teeth normally beforehand. You may want to figure out something to do for 5-10 minutes while the next stages are working.
... ...is about the same size as a lip gloss stick. It has a white fuzzy tip at one end. If you press down on it, onto your other thumb or the sink, it should feel damp. Once this is established, rub this end over your teeth. 2. Next, take the tube of gel and squirt some into the mouth guard (that funny looking green rubber thing). Then insert guard into mouth around teeth. Now sit around reading takeaway menu or whatever for 5-10 minutes, as per instructions. ...

Well after reading the reviews on here I decided to buy this product from my local chemist.
It is simple to use and easily slotted into my bathroom routine.
From the first use I noticed an improvement and this gradually got better and better over the next 3 days - I was very impressed.
However, on day 4 I used the product as normal in the morning and when it came to take out the gumshield I noticed quite an unpleasant tingling around my gums. ... ...this to die down. How wrong was !?? A few hours later I had some really painful mouth ulcers where the corners of the gumshield would 'sit' and even some ulcers under my tongue and on the corners on mouth. Needless to say I have not used this since and have been dabbing on bonjela to try to make the ulcers go but 2 days later and they are still very sore and even eating is painful (bonus for my diet then).
From an iniital brilliant result I am shocked ...

£20 for a kit that gives you 45 applications, kit includes a gum shield, accelerator stick, whitening gel and whitening toothpaste. You can not use this for more than 14 days at a time.
Using twice a day you wipe your teeth with the accelerator stick and place the gel in the gum shield, wear the shield for 5-10mins and then brush your teeth with the whitening toothpaste. It's that simple.
