    ReadItSwapIt is, as the name suggests, an Internet book swapping site. The principle is simple: you list the books you have for sale, which become visible to other members; you can search books listed by other members. Once you find a book you would like, you can request a swap and if the member in question sees anything they want in your list, they indicate which book they want to swap and all that's left to do is packing and posting.     Disadvantages Disadvantages based on trust which could be abused

    Spending endless hours a week on public transport to and from work can often get quite boring and tiresome especially if I am unlucky enough to hit rush hour traffic in London so the one thing I always ensure I have with me upon leaving the house is a book. Every month I find myself getting through between two and five books depending upon how good they are and this means that it is can be an expensive hobby when you think about the cost of books.     Disadvantages Disadvantages You need to be careful about listing heavy books, can't search others wishlists.

    I can't remember how I heard about ReadItSwapIt.co.uk, a recommendation from a random website while surfing aimlessly one evening. What I do know is that once I had found it I was hooked! I've always loved reading. From a very young age I was far more likely to be found with my nose stuck in a book than watching TV, and I'm still the same. Finding RISI was like stumbling into a book lovers paradise, and I couldn't believe I hadn't found it sooner. A year on it still remains one of my favourite sites.     Bought a book and finished it? Don't know what to do with it? If you've read it swap it! So goes the first few catch-lines of this fast-growing website for avid readers. I generally pop my used books onto Amazon but find that only the most up-to-the-minute titles are sold quickly. Generally speaking, most of the books I upload are not 'hot off the press' and some can probably be bought from some cut-price bin in a supermarket.     I have recently discovered this fantastic website 'Read It Swap It' and I am already hooked! The function of this website is to swap used books with others for their used books, and all for FREE (well you do have to pay for postage) this is a fabulous idea and very useful indeed! With up to 66131 books to choose from you are bound to find something you want to read. The website is clearly laid out and very simple to use, the website is not fussy with simple white background and blue writing.     Disadvantages Disadvantages I suppose some dishonest people but they are rare on here

    Now I realise that there are already quite a few reviews on this website, which I am glad about as hopefully it is spreading the word of a superb site.But in the past few weeks, there have been some changes to the Read It Swap It site, so I hope to either introduce to the site if you haven't heard or visited it before, and if you have, then update you on the new features which have been put in place, making it even better than before!     With people having less and less time to visit the library, it was only going to be a matter of time before an online library was going to be created and that is simply what "readitswapit" is, an online library where you just pay to post your book to your swapper. The website is of a simple design so it is easy for everyone to use and offers over 137242 books with more and more being added each day.     Advantages Advantages Only pay the price of postage to recieve a book you haven't yet read!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Operates on trust so it could always be open to untrustworthy people, I've had no problems.

    I love reading books, but buying them can be quite expensive and it can be hard to sell books on, such as on eBay, because the postage costs are quite high for books, the majority of them have to go through as a packet. This leaves you with an ever growing book shelf filled with books you probably won't ever read again, but you're not sure what to do with them. Take them to a charity shop? Loan them to a friend? A whole year ago I came across ReadItSwapIt.co.uk when a friend online mentioned using it. The front page boldy asks me: "Bought a book and finished it? Don't know what to do with it ... more

    ReadItSwapIt.co.uk is a book swapping website. It is free to join and free to use, offering you thousands of free books to choose from. The purpose of the site is to encourage reading and to share books that you've finished reading and would otherwise spend the rest of their existence sat unused and unloved on a bookshelf. I rarely keep books after I've read them once, the real 'keepers' have to be a story that really involved me, or a reference book that I can refer to again for instructions.     Advantages Advantages a good way of passing on unwanted books

    Disadvantages Disadvantages it's always going to have a trust issue attached like anything else on the internet

    I was alerted to this site by another Ciao member, and I'm thankful he steered me in this direction. I usually get my books from the library or Greenmtropolis, or Ebay. Rarely do I buy them new, but my bookshelves have been straining under the weight recently. Rather than sell them all, as I realised on readitswapit.co.uk you can swop your unwanted / read books for new wanted / unread books. *The site* Quickly hop footing it over, I found the site to be very simplistic.
