Advantages: Interesting and Varied Articles Disadvantages: Lots and Lots of Advertising
...I bought June’s edition of Red from W H Smith at a price of £2.80.
Within its 212 pages there were 92 pages of glossy advertising featuring virtually every brand of expensive cosmetics together with up-market cars, jewellery and clothes – some things obviously never change. However, in the remaining pages there were some very interesting articles and features and whilst I can’t possibly mention them all, the following outlines ... ...magazines Red starts (on page 9 after a lot of adverts!) with the Editor’s Letter detailing the highlights to come. Two very comprehensive “Contents” pages follow, split into sections for “Brilliant Buys”, “Fashion”, “Features”, “Health & Beauty”, “Food”, “Home & Garden”, “Travel” and “Special Offers”. It all looked good and sounded interesting ...

I have been reading Red magazine since March when it was recommended to me by a friend. She is a bit older than me and already married with children, where as I am not. I thought it would be a bit out of my age range, but I bought it anyway and really enjoyed it. I couldn't put it down.
Each month there is a celebrity interview, and this is not like the normal celeb interview you find, but it is conducted in a relaxed environment and the write up ... ...a range of products for Red readers to purchase.
Red prides itself on including real women in the magazine and often has articles from readers whose lives have changed someway. There are also minor celebrities and authors talking about their home lives, or what has inspired them - it changes each month. Other sections include 'Red Hot' where films, TV shows and books are reviewed, 'Red Beauty' where the hottest beauty products are reviewed and tips ...

Advantages: Lots of advice Disadvantages: Too many affordable buys are given making it difficult for shopaholics to chose from!
Red magazine is THE read in my opinion for a more sophisticated read. Articles are not only more relevant to today but also aims at real woman, and their hectic lifestyles! Food and nutrition, always a must read - always has the most up to date ideas of healthy living and the way in which you can incorporate this into your life. These writers know their stuff....probably living hectic lives they realize we can't all spend 5 days a week working out ... ...best buys, and buys often for under £20 - thats right, they managed to find best buys that are worth shouting about and they are even sharing it with us! Real life articles about real people's problems, Red gives you all the advice you could want in one magazine! ...

Well i think Red has (along with some other new ones)filled the whole for us normal girls. The price is average..£2.80 and the level of journalism is good. Yes there is still too much advertising, they all seem to do that..but the articles, advice and stories are all a little more believable or usful for me and i do read a lot of magazines...approx. 5 weekly, 2 bi weekly and 5 monthly.
It is one of the few mags that i keep incase i want ...

I saw red magazine and i thought it looked good , i saw the price and it looked even better (£2.80)so decided to buy it.
I was reading through it whilst i was in bed and got through the magazine in literally 40-50 minutes.
I normally spend ages reading my magazines as there is a lot to read. I did notice that the magazine was abit on the thin side before i bought it but i thought it's quality not quantity . This had neither.

This is the first time I purchased this magazine in a long time as I forgot that it was still available.After purchasing this what a disappointment it was. I did not like the style of this magazine as I prefer to learn more about cosmetics e.g new on the market and ones which are great in magazines as I cannot get enough of them I am afraid.
