Advantages: May wonder what you have been missing Disadvantages: Until you realise a stress-free Wii experience is more fun
...'kiddy console', the release of Red Steel was exactly in line with incorporating games for all ages -- a message that we know Nintendo have developed well in the over twelve months since release. No one in their right mind would have chosen Red Steel over the inspired 'Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess', however I have recently aquired Red Steel and am experiencing what many have already a little late. If the rather large attention Red Steel had ...

Advantages: Decent storyline, Multiplayer, Good control scheme Disadvantages: Short (12 hours), Not worth replaying, First few levels very boring and drab
Red Steel was one of 3 games I picked up on Wii Launch Day, December 8th, 2006. It had earned reviews from the press ranging from average to pretty decent, but I was not deterred. I'd been interested in this game since screenshots first emerged months before it's release, and I knew I had to get it. So, at midnight, when I went to pick up my Wii, there was my copy, waiting for me. Needless to say, I was still at it untill the sunlight, and school ...

Advantages: At times rather good | Controls work Disadvantages: At times rather bland | Sword play not as good as it could have been
Red Steel has had a lot to prove ever since it was announced. It was the first officially unveiled game for the Wii giving people a glimpse at what a game on the Wii could look like and whether it really was noticeably different to what the GameCube could handle. It also had the task to prove to the world that the Wii's control system could handle such a game which was demonstrated at E3 in 2006. The showing had teething problems but most people walked ...

Advantages: Good control system after you've mastered it, good multiplayer Disadvantages: Very little replayability, once youve finished it you wont play again i dont think.
Okay, this was the second game i ever brought on my wii and was the only first person shooter available at the time! And in my opinion its the only first person shooter worth playing on the wii (except metroid prime), but many people may think otherwise.
Okay firstly, the graphics are okay, not the best i've seen on the wii but definitely not the worst, i'd probably say they are above the graphics of a gamecube game easily.
Anyway in terms of ...

Advantages: Qualtiy gameplay. You are in the game! Disadvantages: Graphics not as good as new consoles.
This game is all about japenese gangs really and you have to save your friends lives including your girlfriends but when the father doesnt like you to start off with it is hard work. The father will become your friend after the first mission eventhough his body guards dnt like you and still try and kill you. But you will sort them out.
There is alot of fun to be had in this game! You control the players movements by moving the wii remote! You use ...

Advantages: Exciting, Brings back memories of Time Crisis Disadvantages: See review
I really love this game. Been palying it now on off for a few weeks.
It is based around a man who goes to meet his fiancee's father who happens to be a gangster. During the meet his fiancee and father are kidnapped. Therefore his objective is to save them then try to figure out whop dunnit. Using weapons collected throughout the game you use both remote and nunchuck to move and shoot. I found the use of these very different but enjoyable as to direct ...

Advantages: Best FPS For Wii Disadvantages: Sword Fighting is dissappointing.
Red Steel is obviously the best FPS out for the Wii, but that doesn't necessarily make it good.
After buying this game, i loved it, for about 1 week and a half, then i realised that you were just doing the same thing over and over again, no real strategy, i really dislike FPSs which have no strategy behind them, give me counter-strike over Red Steel any day.
The sword fighting was probably what everyone was most looking forward too, from the adverts, ...

Advantages: Innovative, New, Fun! Disadvantages: Camera Angles are Poor, Buggy, Short.
This game is one of the most fun experiences i have had in a long time, it is a great title, with a fairly good storyline and the idea and ability of using a controller to wield guns and swords is amazingly kool.
The moving around is slightly buggy with sometimes the character halting during gameplay and you needing to pause and unpause or the character to take a while to resond to the change of direction although this happens rarely.
The way ...

Advantages: Excellent multi player, good game, lots of action Disadvantages: Takes some getting used to the controls
Well, this is a long-awaited game which pits you against Japanese Yakuza (mafia) who kidnap your girlfriend and soon to be father-in-law.
The good thing about this game is that there's lots of action, and levels are fairly easy to navigate. The sword fighting is reviewed elsewhere as being disappointing, but its what you're after. For what its worth, both my son and I found it pretty good fun.
Too many shooter games have a lot of wandering around, ...

Red steel (Wii) Review ofRed Steel (Wii)by

Advantages: Original storyline Disadvantages: clunky; not overly easy to play
Quite immersive storyline featuring Japanese warlords and a quite foxy girlfriend who ends up being kidnapped and relying on you for her salvation. The game opens up into some quite nice shoot'em up sequences but it does expose the limitations of the Wii graphically.
The game stretches the controller (including the nunchuck) to it's maximum and beyond and you can easily (and frustratingly) find yourself spinning helplessly in the room being shot ...

Advantages: Fun, innovative, exciting Disadvantages: Poor graphics and sound, bad camera
While Red Steel is not the killer ap that everyone was hoping for, it is still a great game to play and a great introduction and start to what FPS's could be like on the Wii. It's main problem is that its flaws are very noticeable, but if your a gamer willing to forgive a few flaws, it will not make a difference! Everyone can complain about the graphics and how it looks like last gen or Gamecube style. However, as a true gamer, graphics should be ...

Advantages: good japanese locations, and an alright launch title Disadvantages: controls could have been better
The Review - Red steel was the first wii game I bought for my new console and I had heard mixed things about it. But now I can honestly say that it is an average game, neither rubbish or excellent. Being a wii launch game red steel uses many new ideas, for example the control system like throwing grenades with your nunchuck or the sword fighting (which wasnt bad but needed work). But altogether with all its flaws its just a fun shooting game, this ...

Advantages: The game play. Disadvantages: The films take to long.
Redsteel has to be one of the best ever wii games to come out. The game play is amazing furthermore the graphics are mint. The guns and swords fights are great but the only down side has to be the films within the game play because you can't skip the films. However the missions do take about 30 mins but they are fun. Also the body work on the players looks like real life. Even the faces look real life. The down side of Redsteel are the controls because ...
