I've never tried an Ionic dryer before, but it is supposed to reduce static and frizz which is great if you want a sleek straight style. I can't say that I noticed any difference to the finished result.
The first ... ...heavier it was than my previous dryer. It weighs about 600g which is about 120 g heavier than the Revlon (which I still own despite the funny noise) which can be quite tiring when you have to hold the dryer above your head for some time.
