    Advantages Advantages No need to use the hairdryer before straightening, wide plates ideal for long, thick hair

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Wouldn't recommend using these every single time, heat protection spray must be used

    When I was young, I longed for thick, wavy, long blonde hair. Sadly my hair has always been very fine and looks pretty awful once it gets past my shoulders, is poker straight and colourwise it's mousy brown, so my dream was never to be. My daughter, however, has the most beautiful hair - naturally wavy, thick and a lovely shade of blonde - everything I wished I had had when I was her age.     These are the first pair of Remington Straighteners I've ever owned and definately the best. My husband bought them for me for Christmas - he knew I was after a pair of GHD's but couldn't find them on the high street (us girls know they are only available through the web) so settled for these. He accidently bought me the wide plates - even though I have quite thick wavy and frizzy hair - I've always used the slim plates on previous straighteners. Why? i don't actually know.     I have had my old straighteners (Remington Wet2straight S8100) for a couple of years now, and even though they work fine I asked for a new set for Christmas. I'd seen these new Nano-Gold ones in Boots and thought they looked a bit better. My old ones were the slim version and when my hair is longer it takes some time to get it all done so my Mum bought me the wide ones for Christmas.     I do have to admit that I was rather sceptical about these straighteners when I first saw them in the advertisement. I wondered how they could ever dry my hair in such a quick time without making it frizzy. I can say now however, that they are the best straighteners I have ever used! I received these as a present two years ago and I am surprised how well they have lasted - I haven't noticed any corrosion on the ceramic plates, which saves on cleaning time.     My old (and very expensive) GHD straighteners had finally bitten the dust. I was in a quandry - should I buy the same brand again or go for something I hadn't tried before. I have two friends at work who have recently bought these straighteners and they both swear by them! Besides, my daughter has very long, unruly locks and by the end of the day, even my tried and trusted GHD's didn't quite live up to their reputation on her hair.     WOW, an amazing product which actually lives up to the expectation. It is perfect for fizzy hair and will easily smooth down an uncontrolled mane. After gliding it over strands of my wavy hair 3-4 times, my hair turns in to sllek and super straight in just a couple of minutes. The Remington works well on dry, damp or wet hair, but I prefer on damp hair as I feel it doesn't dry my hair out as much. The grip fits comfortably in my hand, making it a very easy tool to use.     I have had this straightner for about 1year now never had any problems with it its not too expensive and its worth the price, I dont need to use any hair creams or hair sprays as my hair would be straight all day no matter even if there is wind ive never had any problems with this straightner unlike many others i have tried such as vidal I belive that no one should have any problem with this straightner and i am also pleased with it, you can do hair flicks and also curv your hair from bottom if you wish its perfect, I always use it when i go to parties or weddings.     This straightener is a great buy. If you are looking for something equivalent to a GHD but want to spend half as much, this is it. I searched high and low for a deal on a GHD after having used one at a salon. I gave up on the GHD but found this Remington Wet 2 Straight. I am so glad I did! I saved so much money and my wavy and sometimes a little frizzy hair, is so straight and healthy these days! This straightener doesn't dry out your hair, so your hair never looks like you've fried it straight. It has vents to release moisture so it doesn't sizzle as you use it on damp hair.     I've got very thick, naturally curly, dry, just below shoulder length, coarse hair (brillo pad like if left without goo) Having researched the product before buying, I was a bit sceptical about the raving reviews and didn't really think they'd do what they were supposed to, but I have to say that these things will change my life! I used them on damp hair initially, but found that in a few strokes my frizz was tamed and I had a sleek, glass like finish to my normally bonkers, unruly strands and I just love em!     I had been using this one for some time and I really found it to be wonderful. My hair is weak and it is always getting curly when havin some rain or windy weather. I used this straightener with a straightening gel and my hair looked really good. It also has special surface that does not let your hair get burned - this is very important because I used to have one with a regular surface and after using it for a couple of months my hair became weaker and did not look healthy.
