A good little motorway cruiser

Advantages: Easy to park, solid, quiet, brisk and frugal.
Disadvantages: Not as economical as hoped

...I cannot imagine that Renault have conned the authorities into thinking that a good sample of their motor cars does 64 when it doesn't, but what am I to make of this glaring disparity? The simple fact is that there is absolutely no sensible relationship between what I know as a fact and what the car's onboard computer is telling me. Just to add insult to injury, actually the Honda did as well in the real world, despite being slightly bigger, and ...
...truth? I did email Renault - it's their problem, not the dealer's, after all is said and done - and after prodding they did come back, but claimed that the displayed mpg was only 'an indication', which was about as unconvincing as they could get. If the actual figures were, say, two or three mpg different from what is displayed I would find it acceptable, but ten to twelve mpg! Come on, pull the other one Renault. That's nearly a 25% difference!! ...

...a little op on the Renault Clio. We recently had a need to hire a car, and we ended up with the new Renault Clio 1.5 DCi. We didn’t ask for a diesel in particular, we were just allocated one. However in the past, I have owned a Rover metro diesel and an Audi A3 1.9 turbodiesel, and in particular I miss the economy, as I normally drive a lot of miles each year. We had never driven a Clio before, although we do own a 1997 Renault Laguna, and ...
...driver, and front passenger airbags, Renault anti Intruder device and an immobiliser. If you pay attention to car advertising and motoring magazines, you will doubtless know that the Renault Laguna was awarded five Stars in the Euro-NCAP tests, the only car to have achieved this. The Clio on the other hand has been awarded four stars, a pretty good result regardless. The car was extremely economical, we barely used a half-tank in the few days we ...

If I crash again, I want it to be in a Clio....

Advantages: Safe and solid (rolls well), and all in all a tidy little car
Disadvantages: Window and remote locking problems. Not impressed with Renault service.

...same time I got my Renault Clio Grande 1.2. For obvious reasons we sold mine and opted to keep the Diesel. As I mentioned in my other review (of my other Clio), I live in my car...well, at least I spend hours every day in my car. So me and the "Boo Mobile" were on pretty close terms. And I'm not ashamed to say that I loved her. Why? Well, all this good stuff: Inside: There was always plenty of room - both headroom and passenger space generally. ...
...we added later - a Renault one, which I would recommend) - by the way, a bit of advice: always put your car CDs into a big wallet - it saves getting them all scratched and lost if you crash. I particularly love the fact that the steering wheel is moveable, which for me is a necessity as I have long legs and hate feeling cramped. Safety: Side airbags (which work, by the way, we have tested them....) as well as front driver and passenger airbags ...

Firstly this is a diesel car. This car was brought in 2003 for around £6000. The car from the outside still look new and the same is on the inside but the owner of this car has taken a lot of care and effort to keep it in tiptop condition. This is the car that changed the shape of the Clio and most of the structure has differed from the previous models of Clio. You have a wide choice of the type of engines that you can have and you can decide ...
...Interior This has been improved a lot, it feels like you are getting a lot more room in the car than another models, there is a big boot for all the shopping, the back seats have lots of room but can get cramp if the front passengers are bigger than 6 foot. The seats are comfy but the car I was in didn't have back headrests and I found this strange. All of the back seats were pull down seat belts instead of the usual lap belt for the middle seat. ...

...fiasco with the main dealer.Overall Renault (including UK head office) have been very poor in supplying either parts or information about what was happening. Anyway this has just been cleared up now so hopefully it won't reoccur. Whilst this has taken some of the shine of owning the car, i am still enjoying it. It has done just over 4k in the time i have had it since new and all of them have been happy miles if a little overheated in the few days ...
...fix but no one at Renault seemed bothered in the slightest. Passengers are very surprised it is a diesel, and also how comfortable it is on long journeys for a small car. Boot space is great for weekends away and a booze cruise to europe is certainly not out of the question. Standard fit niceties include automatic headlights which turn on when it starts going dark, rain sensitive windscreen wipers, electric heated mirrors and windows.Sports seats ...

...and bought a nearly new Renault Clio dCi. The best part is, she was kind enough to put me on the insurance, so I can drive this wonderful little car! Background to car ---------------------- To replace to Corsa, we decided on a Renault Clio dCi, as we heard that they have the best diesel engines in small cars. We also wanted a small car that felt “big”, which possessed flair and style, and also was well equipped and a pleasure to drive. For these ...
...this! Exterior ------- The Renault Clio is a standard sized small car, designed for running around small distances with ease. Its dimensions are 3812mm long, 1911mm wide and 1417mm high. These small dimensions are very good for town traffic, making it very suitable for grabbing that list small parking space in the car park. However, these small dimensions are like an illusion, as the car is very spacious inside. There is ample headroom for me, ...

...months ago to buy a Renault Clio 1.5 dci. My partner and I had been looking around for a new car for a while, as our current one at the time had been starting to have problems. With the thought of putting it through an MOT forced £££ signs to flash in front of our eyes, dreading the idea of paying out more than what the car was worth. Then a friend of mine said she was considering selling her car which was only 3 years old. The immediate thought ...
...her daddy works for a Renault showroom, he had the car cheaper to begin with and was going to buy her a new car. We bought the car for £4500 , with the real price being £7000-£8000 at least. The car is blue and a 5 door car, which is much better than a 3 door. It saves messing about with seats in order to get in the back, even though it is rarely used. Except for the other half who does sometimes think it is a dumping ground, much to my annoyance. ...

Only Clio worth having other than the 2.0 16v

Advantages: This is probably the cheapest car to run you'll ever own.
Disadvantages: Poor seat and pedal positions and of course the "The Clio Rattle"™

Ok. We all know what the Clio looks like, everyone has their opinion, whether it's gay, girly or just generally normal. So I won't dwell on that, other than to say I think this shape Clio is the 2nd best looking hatch (after the Mini Cooper and not including BMW 1series). Let's move onto general practicalities. The car is reliable as anything when it comes to the core components. I had more punctures in the first month of owning it than I have ...
...bad luck I guess, and parts are pretty cheap really. The seats... Well they're alright, they're the same seats as the 182cup, which are just the "sport" shape, but without a leather trim. I'm about 6' of medium build and 32" waist, but the seats feel like they're meant for someone wider than me, as there's a lot of movement when you're cornering (faster). The pedals. Are in a weird setup, I have size 10 boots and when wearing them, I used to get ...

Never, Ever Again!

Advantages: Reasonably cheap for a diesel
Disadvantages: Unreliable, badly finished - seem to be despatched from manufacturer without proper checks

...By the way, the Renault Assist package that they give that they say is comprehensive AA cover, well it isn’t. It was only through this experience that I found out: I was covered for this incident, but the bit about locking in your keys or putting the wrong gas in the tank, costs another £50. It has now been a further 3 months and I am writing this with my fingers crossed, but nothing of major note has happened. It has an almighty rattle and the ...
...but they’re something I’m just going to put up with, its not worth the hassle, I just turn up the radio louder! To redress the balance ever so slightly, I like the way it can give me accurate fuel consumption (averaging 53.3), the automatic locking of the doors once underway, the windscreen wiper will come on if it senses significant rainfall (with a little initial encouragement) and the lights come on when it thinks it’s getting too dark. Also, ...

3000 miles a month - My butt hurts!!!

Advantages: Excellent road handling, aircon, CD player, Fuel economy
Disadvantages: Unforgiving suspension, Bad turning circle, sounds like a van

I'm not very good on all the technical specs but I do a lot of miles so know the feel of this car well. The clio dynamique is a fun car to drive. It handles beautifully and has a decent amount of power too. It accelerates well, cruises well and gives you the right amount of feedback to enjoy driving it. Short journeys are geat. Long journeys are not so fun. The seat is a little firm and my delicate posterior can become a little numb. This is not helped by the "sporty" suspension that really forgives our roads nothing and enables me to pinpoint exactly ...

Oh boy! Fast and economical DCi 80 Dynamique.

Advantages: New technology DCi engine.
Disadvantages: Rear legroom tight.

The Clio DYnamique DCi 80 is a formidable opponent to other superminis in the same class. The Clio is such a well rounded package, the new DCi engine is years ahead of anything else on the market offering considerable economy without any loss of performance. In fact, the DCi 80 is not far off as quick to drive as my old 306, which is an accolade I hate to have to admit! So far, I've managed the following figures in my Clio DCi80 Dynamique, 72mpg ...

I do not drive slowly either, the car's performance is amazing, the ride is solid, smooth responsive, corners are taken flat without understeer touch the juice pedal and Clio will pull its weight without question. Overtaking is always a surprise as the engine is just so quiet, no panic or ear defenders to be seen! Inside, the car is well apointed, lovely bucket sports seats, electric everything, auto lights (come on ...
