Advantages Advantages Nippy, economical, lots of toys, comfortable, nice quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages French, French, French oh and a bit cramped in the back

So what is this I hear you cry? Decided to go French? Well despite my better judgement we have indeed gone ‘Oh la la’ and got the missus a Renault Clio to replace our 2006 Nissan Micra. Admittedly despite my dislike of French cars (based on past experience), I don’t mind Renaults too much and have always had a thing about the Renaultsport Clio 182 so this was (I suppose) a compromise (and I was told she wanted one or else). So without further ado I introduce to you our Renault Clio 1.6 16v Dynamique spec 3 door 2003/53 reg model finished in light metallic blue and appears to have the ‘Digi ... more

Advantages Advantages very confortable ride, has good looks

Disadvantages Disadvantages the 3 doors make it hard for back passengers to get in and out

As you can tell I don't have a very high opinion of the French when it comes to cars, (no disrespect meant to any French readers) but I was extremely surprised when I came into contact with this stunning car. ***Comforts*** Our model had: *Alloy Wheels *Air condition *ABS *Remote central locking *CD player *Sun Roof *Power Steering *Adjustable steering wheel ***Outside*** Even before you get into this car you have to admire the sleek and stylish design of this car. Therese little touches that just set the car off. I.E. the little touches of silver on the black strip on the side of the car that ... more

Advantages Advantages Good fun to drive

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Small boot

I have just returned from one week in Italy where I have been driving this car. I rent cars there fairly regularly on business. I normally ask for a Punto, but this time I was given a Clio. I do not like French cars, and did not like Clio before trying it. The 1st impression, was very positive, the car is very easy to drive, and I was surprized to see it accelerating pretty well! When the car reached 160 Kmh, I began to reconsider the whole car! The air-conditioning system is very fast, this is a feature which is very useful in Italy, where, particularly this year, you need to cool the ... more

Advantages Advantages Nippy and cheap to run

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I owned an RXE for a little over 9 months and can honestly say it was a fab little car. Nippy, and held the road well. Firstly, I have to mention fuel economy... Not bad around town, but on a long run (say 250 miles - Ipswich to Manchester) I could get up to 52 miles per gallon out of it!). This isn't bad for a 1600 cc engine. The engine was quite powerful, although the rev limiter kicked in at 5800 revs, which meant over taking was sometimes quite a fright! Inside the car was comfortable. Air con, electric everything, radio controls on the steering wheels. Also, they was trip information ... more

Advantages Advantages Good level of Trim. Good Fuel Economy

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor room for passengers.

I have owned my 2001 Renault Clio 1.6 16v dynamique+ for about six months. I have enjoyed my time with car so far, however a few problems have come to light over this time. The first problem I had was an intermittent fault with starting the vehicle, so I had a mobile tuning company come to check the ECU. After a few hours of investigation they found that I had an intermittent earth on the engine, So it was acquiring the earth required to start the car through the ECU. NOT GOOD! They installed a new earth from the battery to the engine to fix the fault. This was the biggest and most expensive ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast!!!! Comfortable and smooth, good value for money

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit of wind noise. 3 Door versions doors are a little cumbersom

I have this car in a bright blue metallic colour, 54 plate dynamique. What a great car!!! Really nippy with the 1.6 engine 16v, although it is not fuel injected it still picks up speed super fast due to its light weight, and is better on fuel consumption. It also has alloy wheels, Cd player and manual sunroof. It also has folding rear seats, good boot space, comfortable sporty seats, and a rain sensor option for your wind screen wipers, which alters the speed depending on how heavy the rain is and how fast you are going, great feature. I initially found this car quite difficult to drive as the ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast, Fun to Drive, Looks, Equipment

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some Small Rattles, Wind Noise

I have had my 03 plate clio 1.6 dynamique (sport) for around 6 months now and i must say that i have been extreemely pleased with it. Performance is superb from the 110bhp 1.6 16v engine, and this car suprises a lot of more exotic machinery. Economy isnt that bad either as on average it will do 42mpg although even if pushed hard it rarely drops below 36mpg. Standard equipment is good if not excellent, with automatic wipers and lights, air conditioning, alloy wheels, sports seats CD player and much more , in fact this clio has the most equipment of any car in its class. Many reviews complain of ... more

Advantages Advantages Performance and Attractive also Features

Disadvantages Disadvantages Could have better features (more enhanced)

Renault Clio Si This is a bubble car but shaped very well and is very attractive as well. The car has a classy interior and trimming as well. It drive's really well and is very comfortable. Your get a lot of features along with the car as well as driver and passenger airbags, alarm, immobiliser, power steering, central locking and remote also front electric windows, radio cassette and sunroof which is a good selection of features. It does 0-60 mph in 11.00 seconds and a maximum speed of 107.9 mph. It costs £11,000 on the road and carries group 6 insurance and a 1yr warranty. It also has got a ... more

Advantages Advantages Reliable, trustworthy, nippy little car

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit small for my 6' 3" husband!

I have had 3 Renault Clio’s and I would highly recommend them for their reliability and trustworthiness. At the moment I have a 3 door but would really like to go back to a 5 door which I had previously; mainly for the fact that I now have a grandchild and it would be much easier to get her into her car seat with back doors! The drive is smooth, quiet and a delight. Servicing is every 18,000 miles, which worried me at first as to how a car could go that far without a service, but I was assured on it’s first service that everything was ok and on it’s recent second service it ... more

    Advantages Advantages nippy as anything

Disadvantages Disadvantages bit on the cramp side

its an amazin car, ive got my 53 plate dynamique sport in black ;) and its well good, its got all the gadgets you would expect with a resonably high spec bmw 3 series, bucket seats, tightened steering and an improved throttle response compared to the 1.2 16v clio of the same year, the fuel economy is pretty good, mines just gone up to 35.5 mpg ish because it had new improved igniton coils, but before that it was toppin out at 28.3 mpg ish. it goes liike stink and will do 130mph, trust me on that one! the gearbox is tight and precise and the brakes are excellent. it does tend to understeer if ... more
