The Renault Laguna Estate, sorry, Sports Tourer

AdvantagesStylish, well equipped, technology laden car

DisadvantagesNot the most practical of estates and the engine is a little fussy

"...cars - the VW Passat, Renault Laguna and Saab 9-3. You may have read my Saab 9-3 op - and if not, why not? -, so now it's time for round two and it's time for a Parisian challenger in the face of the popular Renault Laguna and here is my op on it... THE CURRENT FACE OF RENAULT Well, Renault are probably set to go down as having one of the most bizarre ranges of cars in the world, by 2003 with an onslaught of stunning - or weird - new cars. The ..." Read review

An estate car without work horse asthetics

Advantagesgreat engine, stylish estate, great spec,

Disadvantagespoor load capacity compared to competition

"I owned this car for 9 months and have managed to rack up 30,000 miles, so I believe i'm in a good position to coment on all aspects of owner ship. Design The 'sports tourer' has been designed with the 'not so sure about estate car' market in mind. The sports tourer acheives this by a gradual transition of the tail gate which granted does look good but the load capacity suffers and theres a danger of loads resting / going through the rear window! ..." Laguna 1.9dCi Hatchback

AdvantagesSafe

DisadvantagesUncomfortable

"I drive a reasonable number of miles in my work (around 3000/month) and have recently had the opportunity to sample several cars in this class. The Laguna has been my least favourite for a number of reasons. Firstly, I have been driving this particular vehicle for around 5 months. It is a hire car, and I am unsure of the trim level - there are no other markings on the car other than 1.9dCi. It is an up to date model - 05 plate. My main issue ..." Read review

Laguna money-drain

AdvantagesHandling, comfort & styling

DisadvantagesConstant costly repairs and parts.

"I bought my 2001 Laguna II, 4 years ago, with 49,000 on the clock. I am not a high milage driver and have clocked up only 33,000 miles. Since then I have had numerous problems with the dashboard key reader unit and have replaced it. I have replaced three tyre pressure sensors due to malfunctions. I have had problems with the electrics atributed to the sunroof, and it has also continued to leak rainwater into the interior if left pointing nose down ..." Read review

Renault Laguna 1.9 dCi - The User's Review

Advantages5* Safety Rating, Good Drive, Cheap

DisadvantagesBroken Sensors, Cheap Interior

"My parents have owned a Renault Laguna since 2004. We decided that since our accident, we would need a car with a very high safety standard. The Laguna ticked all of the boxes with its excellent five-star european safety rating and sufficient boot space. In general, the Laguna is a good drive which is very smooth and durable on lengthy journeys but there are some major problems. The main two problems that we have experienced is that the tyre ..." Worth every penny

AdvantagesWell thought out, econimal estate car that drives better than most

DisadvantagesPoor sound system.

"I own a Laguna estate 1.9 dci sports tourer. It handles better than most other large cars I've owned and never under or over steers in the dry; very impressive. I drive my car keeping the revs as low as possible wherever I go. On a long run at 55 mph I return an average 68.8 mpg. Mixed driving, the car returns an average 50.4 mpg per tank full. People can say as they please, which does not bother me, but the above figures are accurate. I even tried ..." Read review

Love it!.........Hate It!!

AdvantagesComfortble, good performance good economy

DisadvantagesPoor reliability

"I've had my Laguna 1.9 dci dynamique 51 plate, for about a month now. Now il Start With The good bits, i do really like this car. i have been a car salesman and as one i have driven almost every car on general sale today. There are better cars but it is very good. Our second Laguna

AdvantagesIt's a car with four wheels!!

DisadvantagesNo feel about it - silly card key

"...part's manager for a local Renault dealer, but he didn't drive, so his love is based on his experience in this job as opposed to being a driver!! Me, I'm an ex-copper, driven loads of cars and vans and must say I am unimpressed and do not like Renaults much at all. So every time it comes to cars, my husband and I argue. Our current Laguna, the saloon 1.9dCI is our second one. Not through my choice - this one is my husband's company car. The first ..." Read review

RENAULT LAGUNA MK2 1.9DCi

Advantages5* Safety rating many extras good mpg

Disadvantagesrepair cost noisy plastic trim

"...75 to sort out at renault dealerships but i am going to gett my local private garage to turn of the sensors and replay the valves with normal ones (i have to pump up the tyres every week as i lose 10psi) i should really pay the 35 to get it done. So there's my review the choice is yours do you or don't you buy one me never again you do get many refinements as standard but the cost of running the vehicle gives it the downside. ..." Read review

Quick review of Renault Laguna 1.9 dCi

"Bought my laguna 18 Months ago with 71.000 on the clock , now has 94.000, the car has been a dream to drive, good handling, power ( having had it chipped to 142 bhp ), no problems with the car what so ever, went straight through M.O.T when it was due, i also run the car on Bio-Diesel which i make myself and run at a ratio of 80%, so all in all a fantastic car!!

Quick review of Renault Laguna 1.9 dCi

"we had to get our turbo replaced at 84000 miles plus two front springs. since had to get 2 new boot mechanisms and now turbo gone again at 113000 miles. nightmare. nice spacious car, nice to drive but have spent a fortune on repairs. (turbo is 1000). Renault won't give us anything back as they say the car is too old now! it's a 2001. We called them 8 times and were told they would call us back but never did. Renault customer services match their quality of cars. Absolute garbage.

Renault Laguna a great family estate.

AdvantagesA geat family car for those who dont want a people carrier

DisadvantagesCar key is a card pricy to replace

"I brought a Renault Laguna 1.9TD Sport Tourer In April of this year. I paid 2300 for an 03reg. You get a high quality car for a relativly small amount of money. The Sport Tourer comes with part leather interior, three 3 point seatbelts which is a must for anybody with children, a cd player, air con, Abs, 6 speed gears, heated front and rear windscreens and lots more. I have three young children and didn't want to purchase a people carrier instead ..." Read review

Laguna 2003 dci

Advantagescomfort, looks, price

Disadvantageskey card system, suspension bushes, electric windows.

"Had my Laguna for six and a half years and bought it when only 18 months old and 17k on the clock. Its been a very comfortable economical car and im glad i chose it instead of a mondeo at the time. There has been problems with it but i have to laugh at people making a huge issue of the tyre sensors. Simply change valves for normal ones and system switches off, easy. I have the low powered 105hp version with 5 speed box and at 86k miles i,ve not had ..." Read review

Renault Laguna 1.9 dCI review

AdvantagesGreat styles, Great drive, Great value for money

Disadvantagesnone at the moment

"I have recently purchased a Renault Laguna. I am pleasantly pleased with the motor. It's a comfortable driving position. I am a tall lad and i tend to struggle getting in and out of most cars but this Renault has plenty of head room and the seats are completely adjustable. There is also a lot of cabin space for all the family. I tend to need a large boot due to the line of work i'm in. but the boot with this car is HUGE :-D. I have the 2004 1.9DCI ..." Read review
