Ooooooh sporty

AdvantagesNice car

DisadvantagesNiggley little problems

"...looked, we looked at the Renault Laguna and I quite liked it but it was nothing special really it was a sensible boring car, quite nice looking and well designed but they are really common about half the staff at my dad’s school have them, I thought he should have something a bit different to fit into his nice space right in front of the main entrance…then one day I was at my boyfriends house and my Dad came back and told me he had bought ..." Renault Laguna II 2.2 dci Dynamique Auto

AdvantagesPerformance, Power, Style

DisadvantagesNiggly problems initially

"...reserved the car from the Renault website (Renault to go) with only 6 miles on the clock. It was less than 6 months old (a 53 plate) with a whopping discount of 6625 off the list price of a brand new one. I went to my local dealer to buy and it was delivered there within 10 days which included the Easter bank holiday weekend. It now had 7 miles on the clock. My initial thought when the saleman drove it up to me was that it was really noisey from ..." Read review

Good solid workhorse if a bit of a plodder

AdvantagesSolid, dependable, motoring on the cheap. Good size particularly estates

DisadvantagesSlug slow, can be thirsty if rushed

"...exception....... So, how about a 95 Renault Laguna 2.2D RN? A dud or a well kept secret? Actually, it's the latter. As with a few of the older Renaults, they are slow and a bit uninspiring, but they are far better than the latest offerings, by simply not breaking down as often and are thus cheaper to keep on the road. As a general rule of thumb with Renaults, the less there is on the car to go wrong...... Once Renault start to try and get clever ..." Read review

Renault Laguna 2.2 RT Diesel Estate

AdvantagesComfort, Huge load area, Decent handling

DisadvantagesHorribly slow, and not that great on fuel

"...a nice solid 'thunk'. The Renault plastics were of good quality although the cabin was a bit too grey in colour. The car was reliable bar one problem - the heater was rubbish. Apparantly it's a common fault and Renault dealers will quote you hundreds to put it right. An independant garage with the right knowledge will put it right for less than a ton - but check the cars you test drive to save paying later (it's easy to forget these things if you ..." Read review

Quick review of Renault Laguna 2.2 dCi

"I have recently prchased a 1997 2.2D Laguna estate and have found it to be very comfortable to drive with good fuel consumption. I drove from bromyard near worcester to Norwich, a total of 212 miles and only used 15 litres of diesel. Not the most powerfull car I have driven, but adequate enough to give good cruising speeds on the motorways. Plenty of room all round and a well constructed car.

Renault Laguna

AdvantagesPower, fuel consumption, comfort, reliability, space and performance

DisadvantagesEngine noise

"...grandparents etc. Having worked at a Renault garage, I was well aware of the cost of genuine parts but even after we had moved away and had to find a new garage for servicing and repairs, after market parts were easily obtained at a minimal cost and so far only standard parts have needed to be replaced (oil, air, fuel filters etc.). This is easily the cheapest car we have had to maintain. Although our Laguna is several years (R reg) old we ..." Read review

diesel renault laguna

Advantageslow fuel costs

Disadvantageshi servicing costs

"I chose the diesel Renault Laguna to hopefully cut my fuel costs drastically. I travel 28 miles a day to and from work and it was getting expensive! I have been very happy with the fuel economy, up wards of 45 miles to the gallon. The ride is very comfortable and quiet, the sound system is brilliant, loud and with a column remote control. The car is spacious, my girlfriend is quite tall and she has plenty of head room. There are electric front windows ..." Read review
