I’m a girl so clearly I am not going to be able to tell you about a car!!!! Oh except it’s blue I can manage that. I reserved the car from the Renault website (Renault to go) with only 6 miles on the clock. It was less than 6 months old (a 53 plate) with a whopping discount of £6625 off the list price of a brand new one. I went to my local dealer to buy and it was delivered there within 10 days which included the Easter bank holiday weekend. It now had 7 miles on the clock. Look away now if you want exhilarating performance.............. But if you want a good solid workhorse that wont break the bank, read on. FIrstly, I only buy cheap runarounds. The only criteria for me is that they must be less than a grand to buy, have an mot and some tax , I can fit my tools in, are cheap to insure and they will do 40 plus to the gallon. I usually either scrap them once I have run them to the end of the mot or bung them on ebay as spares or repair! (Usually every six months or so). I bought my first ever estate car slightly by accident - I was trying to sell my sisters People Carrier for her and a chap wanted to part exchange. It also happened to be my first Renault, but with a full service history and an engine running sweeter than a Cadbury's Flake on a Sunday, I thought I'd give it a go. Whoops. It's not that the Laguna is a duff choice - far from it. When buying our Laguna, it was primarily as a family car. Having 2 small children and the extra's that go with them we found our Laguna to be ideal (this is our second one). There is always plenty of room for suitcases, prams, toys, grandparents etc. Having worked at a Renault garage, I was well aware of the cost of genuine parts but even after we had moved away and had to find a new garage for servicing and repairs, after market parts were easily obtained at a minimal cost and so far only standard parts have needed to be replaced (oil, air, fuel filters etc.). I chose the diesel Renault Laguna to hopefully cut my fuel costs drastically. I travel 28 miles a day to and from work and it was getting expensive! I have been very happy with the fuel economy, up wards of 45 miles to the gallon. The ride is very comfortable and quiet, the sound system is brilliant, loud and with a column remote control. The car is spacious, my girlfriend is quite tall and she has plenty of head room. There are electric front windows and sunroof, and a good electronic centre display for time,temp,radio.
