Nice arse, shame about my legs! Diamond review Review with images

AdvantagesSafest in class. Style grows on you. Performance. Economy. Ride & Handling

DisadvantagesDriving position. Horrible Steering Wheel. Some interior materials.

"...now awash with them - Renault have been selling the latest Megane for well over two years, it is amazing how time flies and how you get used to seeing a car on the road, indeed the first of them are now approaching an MOT station! Having said that, it is also very surprising how avant-garde this family hatchback and of late saloon and estate still looks. Just like the original Focus, when initially launched I hated the look of it, the more of them ..." Read review

Loosing my va va voom

AdvantagesStill looks good, and goes like the clappers

DisadvantagesThings are starting to fall off

"...admit that at the price Renault charge for some of the really nice things, was easily achievable. The interior is still one of the best in this size car. I opted for the black leather option and I was certainly not dissapointed. Although the Dash is a little too much plastic for my taste, they have not skimpt on the leather coverage. Everything in easy to reach from the driving position except the one slight issue I have with the bonnet catch. The ..." Read review

Comfortable ride with a happy wallet

Advantages low price, great equipment, great mileage, durable engine, comfort seating, good space

Disadvantagesrelatively low horsepower (80) not exactly a boy racer, an arm rest between the front seats wouldnt hurt

"...a nice and steady work. Renault is famous for its engines outliving the body of the car. the engine just makes you feel its durability. like other diesels the real racing-pull occurs at 2400rpm and beyond, when the turbine starts working, though if you want to have great mileage keep it under 2500rpm because its really unnecessary to floor it in normal conditions. If you dont race, keeping it under 2500 will cause no feeling of slacking on a boulevard ..." Read review

2 years on and 54,000 miles under the bonnet.

AdvantagesVery robust, superb road holding and handling, and very quick for a deisel engine

DisadvantagesTyres can cost a fortune for this car so shop around!

"Well it looks like Renault have done it agin with yet another solid built, reliable motor. I've had my Megane for just over 2 years now and I must admit, it has taken some abuse in that time from my less cautious driving style (no crashes, just good old fashioned hard driving, A to B asap). If buying new, the options package for the car is extensive with some nice additions such as keyless car - just touch the drivers door handle and the car unlocks, ..." Read review

shaking that ass!

Advantageslots for your money

Disadvantagesit has a bum, but i like it!

"My car is a 53reg with about 20,000 miles on it. I got it about 4-5 months ago after my 206 took a dive into a ditch on some snow. Oops. I love this car. it's the 120bhp dCi. I can't say enough good things about it. i drive like a normal keen 20 something and I still get 42-45mpg! 30 quid will do me for 300 miles easy and with my driving that is amazing. my 1.1 pug 206 couldn't do that. I went from Brighton to Bluewater and averaged 78mph (no ..." Read review

A Mixed Bag of Tricks.

AdvantagesButton to lock the doors from the inside.

DisadvantagesIs that a tractor I can hear?

"...I thought that was just Renault drivers. Seats are, well, hard. I realise this is very subjective, and that I found 8 hours in a Mercedes C200 uncomfortable, but the Mégane would benefit from better cushioning. Especially since the suspension seems unnecessarily solid. ..." Read review

Megane 2.0 rxe

AdvantagesLots of extras, comfy

DisadvantagesBlind spots

"Being only 5ft tall I have trouble finding cars that offer a comfortable driving position where I can reach the pedals. At long last I have found a car that offers everything I require. The 2.0 megane RXE has all of the following : Air con, electric windows/sunroof, electric side mirrors, fully adjustable drivers seat, adjustable steering wheel, adjustable seat belts, three full seat belts in rear, power steering. It grips the road well, corners ..." Read review

Renault Megane 1.9DCi Hatch 120 BHP

Advantages Stylish unique looks, Good level of ewuipment, Great engine

Disadvantages Early reliability issues...

"...that drew me to the Renault megane, where in my opinions its striking good looks. Unfortunatly not everyone agrees. The looks of this car are a bit like marmite...you ever love them or you hate them. One thing for shure is this car does stand out a lot! And looks extremely good in Black! I like this car because I think it is fairly exclusive, there don't seem to be that many of them around, compared to its rivals liek the focus, golf and astra. Now ..." Read review

Great Car great value

AdvantagesEverything about it

Disadvantagesnot good if you want a bad car

"Great car, on average getting about 43 miles per gallon. With 6 gears this car is a great cruiser, manages higher speeds very easily. The quietest diesel ive driven. The interior is awesome, the seats are like a memory foam, very comfortable, and are great on long journeys. all the interior accessories are well design and placed, lots of in car gadgets and storage - secret storage under floor mats if u need to stash anything.... ive owned my ..." Renault Sedan ll 1.9dci

AdvantagesEnjoyable drive, nice drivers car.

DisadvantagesPoor quality interior, nice to look at.

"Driving a 2006 Megan Sedan 1.9 dci which is approaching it's 60000 service. Love the car, with that torque it make town driving fun. Handling a pleasure with excellent breaking system, still running on the original Michelin tyres. Some gripes : 1) Interior beige colour, one gets used to it but durability is not good. I have had both interior door handle replaced and still the colour comes off leaving a black base. The colour on the drivers seat ..." Read review

Funky fun!

AdvantagesFunky contemporary design with lots of great electric gadgets

DisadvantagesFrequent electrical faults

"I have the privilege of having a Megane 1.9 dci for a company car for the last 2 years or so and have to say that overall it has been an enjoyable experience. It's a great little mover, holds the road well and the 6 gears help to improve both the drive and the fuel economy. One of the many perks of having it as a company car is that it doesn't look like the typical stereo type of one plus it can really shift if you're late for an appointment! However ..." Read review

Shaking my ass...

AdvantagesRain sensitive wipers are brilliant!

DisadvantagesNot found any yet...

"I had set my heart on a new mini cooper but common sense prevailed (fuel consumption; mini attracts too much attention parked in the street; essentially over priced etc) so wasn't overly keen on the new Megane at first. However the clever marketing one me over and soon I was shaking my oversized booty (the car's not mine!) along the motorway! Apart from the futuristic design, the new Megane has a lot going for it: The 1.9 diesel engine is deceptively ..." Read review

New Megane - 4 months on.

AdvantagesStyle Attitude Power Economy Newer Technology

DisadvantagesLegroom in back limited for taller people.

"...be maintained through our local Renault Main Dealer. (Another "plus-point" being that the 1st Service is some 18,000 miles away!) The Megane has proved to be a car with attitude and head-turning style. It's frugal on diesel but generous on power - even at low revs. It's a responsive driver's car which passengers also seem to enjoy. Build quality is good - giving an air of strength and safety. For a diesel, the car is also remarkedly quiet. Various ..." Read review

NICE REAR AND NICE BODY...?

Advantages QUICK, GOOD ECONOMY, COMFORTABLE

Disadvantages CAN BE CHOPPY AROUND TIGHT CORNERS, REAR LEG ROOM

"I HAVE COVERED 59,000MILES IN 17 MONTHS FROM NEW !! SO FAR REPLACED 2 FRONT WINDSCREEN, 1 SET OF TYRES AND 1 FRONT BRAKE PADS. NO BREAKDOWN YET!! IT HAS BEEN VERY RELIABLE. DROVE EUROPE AND UK AND CAN BE HAPPY UPTO 110mph. IF YOU DON'T PUSH THE CAR IT IS VERY ECONOMICAL. IN TIGHT CORNERS IT CAN GET A LITTLE CHOPPY RIDE AND ABS WILL GET ROUGH IN TIGHT CORNERS TOO. BRAKES ARE GOOD AS WELL. SEATS ARE TYPICAL FRENCH SEATS AND COMFORTABLE. HANDLING CAN ..." Read review
