Renault Megane Scenic Automatic

My wife has MS and runs a Renault Megane Scenic (Feb '06) under the Motability scheme. The vehicle has been the subject of 4 recalls, all connected with the automatic gearbox, the piece de resistance coming when it was subjected to its 4th recall whilst the fault which had caused the 3rd recall was still being sorted out! I bought this vehicle second hand and to be fair apart from a few faults I couldn't fault it! spacious cabin great little cubby holes for storing nick nacks ( not the savoury snack). however i did have issues with the inner wheel arches blocking with road dirt that subsequently caused the vehicle to leak. water would track back from the roof down into the cabin. not good. however the fuel economy was excellent (1.9 dti) after market parts are readily available and the service intervals are very good.
