Advantages Advantages smooth to drive, very spacious

Disadvantages Disadvantages you cant get your speed up really fast as it's automatic

We recently bought a Megane Scenic in Autumn gold. Its really spacious and has leather seats which were extra but makes it so much more comfortable. It has lots of features inside such as a cool box for drinks and a changable cd player, trays at the rear for eating and drinks and removable seats. The boot is really spacious and the parcel shelf can be altered to different levels. Having an automatic car makes driving so much easier and relaxing(not too relaxing though lol)and the journey is really smooth and as a passenger you can quite easily fall asleep. Fitted with power steering and air bags ... more

Advantages Advantages Insurance and running costs

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Acceleration

If, like me, you have a family that includes 3 children, two of which are the size of an adult, I recommend the Scenic as your choice of family car. I have owned one for 2 years, and have been very pleased, both with its comfort and with its reliability. The real bonus, as far as I am concerned, is the amount of space inside. There are “secret compartments” everywhere, so that the little extras you need when on holiday can be stowed safely away, keeping the inside less cluttered. I took mine right across Ireland in great comfort, despite the state of some of the roads. So far, servicing has ... more

    Advantages Advantages Visibility, flexibility, drive

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's a people carrier damnit!

The Renault Scenic range of people carriers (although my wife is trying to convince me it's a hatchback because she knows I can't stand people carriers) is a bit of a wonder. It's big and spacious inside although it's deceiving from the outside because it doesn't look that big - a bit of a tardis effect, methinks! It's a lot less bulky and gargantuan than the Renault Espace and the Ford Galaxy but it has a really airy feeling inside with absolutely wonderful visibility when you're driving along. It's got plenty of poke and decent acceleration for something so large and the cornering is ... more

    Advantages Advantages Amazing versatility

Disadvantages Disadvantages my car took 3 months to be delivered

Renault Scenic Privilege 1.6, Manual, Petrol This is an amazing car - has loads of added extras, to make all your friends jealous. My car has full leather upholstery and the electric panoramic sunroof package, which was extremely good value, and also gives a hint of class to the car. The car has a six CD changer under the passenger seat and an additional single CD slot in the radio on the dashboard. There are CD pockets built into the front car doors which allow storage of 5 CD cases. The windscreen wipers come on automatically when it starts to rain, along with the headlights, which have an ... more

    Advantages Advantages Plenty of room

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Heavey on petrol

On august 1st I will have had my Senic one-year and it has been superb. I had the megane before this car and with 3 young teenaged sons things were getting rather squashed. My local dealer has always been very helpful so I decided to have a look at the senic. He let me test drive the senic for a morning so I drove it home put my 3 sons in the back and went for a drive. The kids loved it they all had their own seats plenty of room and there was even two fold down trays for putting drinks and food on. These were attached to the back of the front seats. If you only 2 passengers in the back you ... more

Advantages Advantages air conditioning, comfortable and flexible seating positions

Disadvantages Disadvantages controls and dials are in awkward places, not anough storage space

Why a Scenic you may ask? Well it was partly down to those excellent ads, but we did spend a lot of time on our research working through endless reviews in What Car and Which before coming to our short list of The Scenic, The Mondeo, The Audi A4 and The Zafaira. In the end the Scenic came out trumps because of the feature it provided: - air conditioning - excellent CD system - twin sun roofs - comfortable seating positions for driver and passengers - flexible seating - dual airbags (both a positive and a negative feature, perhaps?) Ofcourse being the "Sport" version, it also has alloy wheels ... more

Advantages Advantages Safety features, interior space, equipment levels

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Driving position

I feel I know the Scenic well, as I have owned two 1.6 RXE's so far, a V and an X reg. Both I imported from Ireland, saving enough to be able to change cars much more often than I would normally, but that's another story! The car is basically a good one, interior space, safety, and equipment levels being its strong points. I had a couple of problems with each one (leaking tailgate window, fog lights and central locking not working) but these were fixed by my local dealer under warrantee. The Scenic's main problem is it's driving postition. The squab of the seat feels like it's angled forwards ... more

Advantages Advantages good range of standard features, space, driving position

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none so far

Time for a new car, it was becoming difficult to squeeze all the kiddy things (especially the amount you need for 2 kids) into the pre children Vauxhall Corsa Sport with only 2 doors. After sifting endlessly through What Car? and other magazines, we narrowed our choice down to a Rover 45 (they were doing a good finance deal at the time!!) a Vectra (well we already had a Vauxhall!) and a Renault Scenic. We test drove all three, the Rover did not stand a chance despite the 0% finance, the Vectra was, well, okay but once i had driven the Renault there was no going back. As well as the endless ... more

Advantages Advantages Good amount of room and fits 5 adults comfortably.

Disadvantages Disadvantages engine feels under powered at times.

I have had my scenic now since July 2007. At times the automatic gear box feel really slugish and the engine always seems to be reving. But the car is comfortable and nice to drive. I find that the cruise control is nice to have on long trips especially on motorways or dual cariageways. My niece like the hieght of the car because she can now see over the top of bush's on the side of the road where in a normal height car she struggles and becomes bored and disruptive. I like the mirror that also let you check on what the kids are doing in the back. But it doesn't let you see the child that is ... more

    Advantages Advantages Practical, Fun, Stylish

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not Many

After nearly a year of driving this vehicle I’ve found it to be one of the most practical, whether you wish to take the kids out for a picnic to moving furniture. There is ample storage space all over the Scenic with clever use of normally unused areas, although the glove box is rather small and cannot be used for storing much. Although the best feature is the ability to remove the rear seats which you can then use to sit on when fishing or having a snack in the sun, with the little built-in cooler coming in handy for keeping 3 cans cool. Removing the seats also gives loads of space in the ... more
