Sorry the title is the same as the Renault Ad but I think its true! If you have read my Freelander Op you will know we recently traded it in, and I have been playing with our new Scienic over the Bank Holiday I can tell you that on first impressions its a great family motor, and since we have owned one before I don't think it will disappoint In case you didnt know, it a mini MPV, which means you sit up a bit higher than a saloon car, you can load stuff like furniture through the tailgate onto a level load space and you can tip / remove seats to more room Our version is a 1.9 diesel dynamique ... more

Advantages Advantages Comfy, reliable, low tax for 1.9, economical

Disadvantages Disadvantages Third seat in back could be a little wider

My owner purchased me in March this year and paid £1450 for me, I was manufactured in 2002 and I display a 52 registration plate making me around 9 years old. I sit parked on a concrete drive away from the perils of the roadside waiting my owner and our trip each day. He approaches me and opens me up with the button on his key instructing me to open all of my doors, I follow my owners command and he gets into me with his bag. Putting the key in my ignition he waits for my coils light to go out with being a diesel and starts me up, I start first time despite my age I am extremely reliable and ... more

Looking for a larger car to fit our 2 children and all the paraphernalia that goes with them and not wanting to drive a bus, we opted for the Megane Scenic RXE. There is so much room and so many pockets, plus the children love the little tables, even though no cups they have fit the cup holes! We chose the RXE as we previously had a sporty car and we didn't want a car that felt sluggish. We test drove the 1.6 and had a run up and down the motorway on a very windy day and felt the car didn't have enough power. Although the car seats 5 people, it is a squash if you want 3 car seats in the rear ... more

Advantages Advantages Space, Height, Boot, Seats

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rear middle seat belt - disaster!

The Scenic was the first compact MPV on the market in 1997 and is based on its company cousin, the Renault Megane. Our model is the RXE (pix of which is shown with this review)with the 1.6 engine, which is very capable and reliable (thus far, *fingers crossed*) for its 'small' size. We have had our Scenic (aka the big red passion wagon - this is an ironic title :) for a year now and I still love it although I think we have become more used to than happy with it's quirks. When we bought it the car was already 2 years old with 50,000 miles on the clock. Acknowledged this is a lot but we would ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Renault Scénic 1.9 dTi by Level 1 Anmo815 27/04/2007
The most comfortable car I have ever owned. It handles well and feels very safe. Ideal for carrying children and easier for older people to get in and out. Having no handbrake took some getting used to, but have now mastered that. It is not the most elegant of cars but it is functional. All in all this car is excellant.

My parents have owned a Scenic for the past year and a half and are extremely pleased with it. I myself drive the car occasionally and it is very easy to drive. The dials, switches etc. are in easy to reach places and the remote for the radio/cassette saves having to take your eyes off the road. The elevated driving position means you have good views and it is generally easier to park. I have to describe the car as a semi-Tardis. It is actually a relatively small car, compared to ones like the Citroen Xantia, Ford Galaxy etc. It gives the impression of being huge from the inside, yet small on ... more

Although devoted BMW drivers my wife and I decided that with two growing children the boot was no use, the family trips, maintenance cost a fortune, it was very cramped for four and a full load, shopping limited to at least 6 bags. On researching MPV's being bigger we assumed that a diesel was the answer as the fuel consumption for a petrol MPV was just about the same as the BMW. Drove the Renault Scenic 1.9DTi and the Citroen Xsara Picasso as they both appealed to us. In short Scenic won over size comfort looks parking ability and fuel consumption. The double sunroofs are a boon and as they ... more

Having decided to expand our family with baby number two, my much loved one year old Audi A3 had to go! With all the baby equipment needed to be taken on hols, to family and most other places a bigger car was most definately needed. Although needing space and a cheaper alternative to the A3, I still wanted an easy smooth drive, 6 gears, comfort, diesel and good accelaration with being nippy. Thr Renault scenic has given me this. I have now been driving it for a year and my trade in has been farely pain free (apart from the birth). It is easy to drive and a smooth ride. The card key and start ... more

got a scenic some 6 months ago. not new but new to me. i have three kids and as such needed the space to get around, and this motor does it all with ease. You sit higher than a saloon car, and combined with the large windows means you command a great view of the road. this combined with a five star ncat rating means that it is one of the safest cars on the road, which is good to know. The car is quite economical for a people carrier. Currently i am getting around 45 to the gallon. The large diesel engine would make you think that the car is sluggish, when actually it is quite nippy. A great ... more

Having read a few of the reviews i felt compelled to write one to having purchased mine this year (end of Jan) after trading in my BMW which i loved incidentally and was very sorry to see go but practicallity had to start playing a bigger part in my life as i was expecting a baby! We spent a long time searching for the right car to suit our needs as the bmw was starting to get expensive to run and keep in good working order. To explain we moved some 140 miles away from London but still regularly had to travel back down (fortnightly) to pick up my partners 7 yr old daughter for her weekend ... more
