    Advantages Advantages Smooth, comfortable drive.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hubby complains it is not a turbo diesel!

This time last year we purchased a 1 year old, ex demonstration Renault Scenic 1.9 Dci, luxury version with leather seats etc. (Monaco model) Let me warn you in advance: Once you have a scenic, there is no way back! It has changed the way in which we look at cars as any other regular car suddenly seems cramped and uncomfortable. It is somewhat Tardis like - appearing compact from the outside but is roomy inside. The Scenic has a typical French ride - very smooth and comfortable. The seating position is upright with a good view over other (or should I say, inferior?) cars. The front seats are ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent practicality and space, Good engine, great for families

Disadvantages Disadvantages build quality and reliability

I think that's a little harsh. All in all we have been really pleased with out DCI 120 and my wife loves it. Its great for families and kids. But, i agree they are not built that well and we hae had some probems. And I am not impressed with Renault dealers at all. The radio is rubbish and it is true reception is diabolical. Its also extremely difficult to work it, still cant figure out how to retune for stations. It got fixed under warranty already for pre-heat plugs, but renault dealer didnt clear the fault properly the frst time so we had to waste time getting it back to them and then they ... more

Advantages Advantages The alloys look good. (That's the only one)

Disadvantages Disadvantages Almost everything you can think of.

In 2001 we bought our first Scenic. We loved it. Almost everything about it was perfect; we liked the seats, the windows, the handling, the engine... everything. In 2004 we bought the new version of the scenic, everything changed. We had presumed the car would be as great, or even better than our previous model. We were so wrong. Renault changed almost every feature we liked on the previous one. They changed the seats, heating system, design (interior and exterior), windows, handling... everything. What follows is a detailed write-up of all the changes, problems and fixes we have experienced ... more

3 Stars Quick review of Renault Scenic Dynamique 1.9 dCi by Battery-dead 27/08/2008
WARNING: I've had a 54-reg RenaultMeganeScenic 1.4 Dynamique, petrol, manual gearbox, for 3 years. Yesterday I parked my car, mistakenly leaving my hazard warning lights on. Five hours later I came back to a hugely expensive problem. I called Recovery. They arrived and were unable to fix it. Couldn't they just give me a simple jump-start ? Couldn't we try a push-start ? Well, we spoke to "Renault Technical" by mobile at the scene for advice and were told that when the battery dips "too low" any attempt to start the engine causes the system to go into "Shutdown-mode" which can ... more

4 Stars Quick review of Renault Scenic Dynamique 1.9 dCi by alfieclark 05/02/2008
I have to disagree with Tazzik. I purchased my 1.9DCI 2 years ago and at the time it was 12 months old. Apart from it being a little heavy on tyres have had no real problems, except the dealers. Oh my gods don't get me started..... Bokked a service on line, got an email responce confirming, turn up thye know nothing about it because the website is run from head office. Forget that I took the day off work, they couldn't fit me in. Had a recall for seat belts, organised a courtesy car yet when I turned up they had ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing space and fuel economy

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Still Looking!!!

I have just recently bought a 2001 Renault Scenic 1.9dci, and I love it!!!. Inside is very spacious. In the front it has two extremely comfortable leather seats, with an armrest. I particularly like that under the drivers seat it has a small drawer to hide your valuables. There is a space for everything!! There are cup holders, a glove compartment, and massive door pockets. In the back there are three seats, which all move forward to allow even more space in the boot if you need it!! On the back of each front seat is a little aeroplane type table with a cup holder on each. The car is fantastic ... more

Advantages Advantages Smart, fun comfy, economical

Disadvantages Disadvantages taken 3 years to pay for it, now i want another!

I've read the other review and have to agree with everything and then some. This year we went on holiday to Cornwall, me the wife and the little one (3.5 years old). One week in a hotel, then a week in a tent. So you have to take all the clothes for the hotel, plus tent, table, chairs, equipment etc for camping! Our Renault Scenic fitted it all - inside! Practically nothing left on the back seats. The forward sliding rear seats meant that we could get the whole lot into the boot. Pop a couple of the rugs (for the tent) on the top and no-one could see what we had in the boot. Whizzing down the ... more
