Advantages Advantages low calorie, low sugar, great taste

    Disadvantages Disadvantages price, sweeteners

I don’t usually drink very much juice, preferring water or tea most of the time. On the occasions when I do buy concentrated juices I usually opt for either Ribena or for a Robinsons fruit squash. When I was in Tesco a few weeks ago they had a buy one get one free deal on both the Ribena and the Ribena No Added Sugar. I would usually buy the normal Ribena but since I am trying to shift a few pounds I went for the light version. When I got home I saw that my flatmate had a bottle of the normal Ribena in the cupboard so I thought I’d compare them. I was really surprised to see the difference in ... more

Message flagged Monday, 5 March 2012, 22:25I always like to try different drinks and the latest on my to buy list was Ribena Light. I am trying to healthy eat at the moment so don't want any fatty drinks in which is why this Ribena drink seemed ideal. I have always liked Ribena from when I was younger, but I was worried that it being a lighter version, it might be quite bland and not as full of flavour, however I was very wrong. This is on offer at quite a few places, I got the 1 litre sized bottle for half price which was a really good price to pay for it. PACKAGING This Ribena Light comes in ... more

Advantages Advantages Fruity flavour, less calories, often on offer

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be pricey if consumed frequently (when not on offer)

I used to love Ribena as a child, especially the ones in the little cartons. But once you start doing your own shopping you really notice how prices change and how expencive it can get. You also notice that one drink contains a lot of sugar and calories. When I came across the concentrate version of 'Really Light' Ribena it was the perfect solution for a refreshing drink. A 1L bottle of Ribena Really Light will cost you around £2.47 (Tesco) which may seem quite expencive. However, you only need a small amount of the concentrate in your glass to make yourself a fruity drink and top the rest up ... more

We drink a lot of cordial in our house, we did used to drink fizzy pop a lot and although we still have some fizzy drinks we try and drink cordial more instead. One of the best cordials is Ribena but not only is it rather expensive the original contains a large amount of sugar. So on a recent trip to Tesco I spotted Ribena cordial on a half price special offer and noticed they had the no added sugar one too so thought I would buy this instead of the original version. The Ribena no added sugar that I purchased was on a half price special offer at just £1.38 For a 1 litre bottle. The Ribena no ... more
