(+) Handling, quality, seems to take great pictures all by itself! That great 24mm lens (-) Sorry, but if you think the price is high, you don't understand value.
Advantages: None. Disadvantages: Complicated. Non-intuitive. Doesnt work with XP. Poor documentation. Expensive.
...impressive, but fails to deliver. Ricoh cleary think that quantity is more important than quality. An object lesson in how NOT to write documentation.
* Expensive.

There are many much better, and much cheaper, cameras on the market - the vast majority of ... ...camera. You have been warned.

Manufacturer's product description
Ricoh RDC-i500 redefines imaging. It features 3x optical zoom and photo-quality resolution. This gives you the flexibility you need in almost any shooting situation. And because it is optical, the zoom maintains sharp resolution across its range. If you want to see the world up close, you can. You can shoot from as near as 1cm from a subject without losing normal definition. The 2.0-inch LCD screen swivels to let you take shots accurately from the most challenging angles. The 200, 000-pixel, active matrix screen provides the accuracy and detail you need to check shot quality or review results. Auto and manual focus modes give you complete control on your camera. RDC-i500 provides text, motion, voice memo and annotation modes. Capture text crisply in black and white. Voice memos and a movie-capturing capability add realism and impact. You can annotate stills with sound or record thoughts on the run. Split-screen shooting allows you to view two images simultaneously. You can clarify detail or simply make your results look more interesting by simultaneously displaying images in one screen. This is very handy for presentations when you need to make it easier to understand product details. Save time by linking RDC-i500 to a PC through a LAN or USB connection. The camera lets you modify browser communications settings and input preset memos. The JOB Navi Function is useful for quickly auto-generating an HTML file. Just select captured images and slot them into an HTML template, and you're now ready to upload to the Internet. The RDC-i500 allows you send and receive e-mails using your mobile telephone, or upload your files direct to your PC via a telephone line. You can access your files easily with the folder management facility, and use a built-in electronic address book.
