Advantages Advantages It prevents skin damage

Disadvantages Disadvantages It stinks - really really stinks

Just to make you jealous, I'm somewhere warm At the moment I'm two thirds of the way through a holiday in India and grappling with the question that tugs at my mind on every holiday in a hot place; do I love or hate Riemann P20 sun block? This simple answer to that question is “Yes, I do” - I love it and I hate it in pretty much equal measure. I love it because it works and I've never got burned when using it BUT I hate it because it stinks, it sometimes stings and I can't help but feeling like I'm basting myself with creosote every time I use it. P20 is one of the most unpleasant smelling ... more

Advantages Advantages quick to apply, only need one application, 10 hours of SPF20 against UVA and B

Disadvantages Disadvantages alcohol base can dry out your skin, stings in cuts, a bit stinky

Busy mum's know that when kids want to play out, they don't want to waste time standing in front of you while you make sure their delicate skin is protected from the strong sun. They want to be off now. I do prefer to use a higher rated sun protection product on long family day out where we will have high sun exposure for, and I have a SPF 50+ that I use on such occasions, but I have taken to using Riemann's as it is a long lasting product that is said to give ten hours of protection. I originally picked it up because my boys were at a private day nursery, and they asked me to provide a ... more

Overview I was introduced to P20 by my mum who cannot use most regular sun creams but comes out in prickly heat every time she goes in the sun. She's been using it for years and recommended it to me when I went to Greece. I was unsure whether the bottle (200mls) would last me a fortnight but using it every day it just about did. At this time you had to use it 90 mins before going in the sun so I just put it on every morning. I never reapplied it even though I was in and out of the water, and I never burnt. Fantastic. Packaging / contents The sun filter comes in a white packet with a red ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to apply. SPF20. Once a day application. Very waterproof. Not greasy / oily.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages NONE.

I've heard people talking about Riemans P20 - and I've even been with friends when they've used it - but it was only on a very recent trip to Marrakesh that I used it myself. I was a little bit dubious about the claim that you only need to apply it once and that it lasts for 10 hours, considering most other brands seem to recommend reapplication every 1-2 hours - but it was on offer in my local chemist and so I thought it was worth trying. I only bought the smallest bottle (100mls) because, like I said, I was pretty sure it was going to flop and I was going to have to revert to buying my ... more

Advantages Advantages Peace of mind. No burning, mild tanning

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Price, unfamiliarity

On planning our recent trip to Turkey one thought was uppermost in my mind. We were taking my 13 year old step daughter who has never been out of England and therefore not used to the intense sun abroad, and who is fair and prone to burning. At home she uses factor 25 or 30, never burns, but never tans either. Like all 13 year old girls she wanted to come back from her holiday with a tan. I had never heard of Rieman P20 but a kindly neighbour told me how wonderful it was so I decided to give it a go. The 200ml bottle doesn't seem very big for the £19.98 I paid in Asda but nevertheless I bought ... more

Advantages Advantages You know that you and you children are well protected from the sun

Disadvantages Disadvantages It is quite expensive - but worth it !!!

I first saw P20 suncream on a television channel. They made it so hard to believe that I just had to give it a go. At £16:00 for 200ml I thought it was quite expensive but still had to buy some. It really did sound too good to be true. You apply it 90 minutes before you intend to go out and it lasts 24 hours. No reapplying is needed, not even if you go swimming. My 3 boys were out in the summer on one of the rare hot days that we had and while their friends had to keep having their suncreams reapplied they didn't, it was absolutly fabulous!!!! All my friends wanted to know where I had bought ... more

Advantages Advantages Great protection, no reapplying :D

Disadvantages Disadvantages smells funny, stains clothing when wet

P20 is the best thing since sliced bread! A work colleague recommended the product to me as we sell it at my place of work. I first used it in Turkey last year. I put it on every morning and left it for the time it stated and went out and sunbathed all day. I went in the pool, I went in the sea, i put clothes on and I took clothes off. Not once did i waste any of my holiday reapplying sun cream and I did not get burnt once or have any issues with it. Ok it does not smell like roses and it will stain pretty much anything while it is wet, so i advise applying this in your birthday suit in the ... more

Advantages Advantages Good for children, excellent sun protection, great for a care-free holiday

Disadvantages Disadvantages Leaves a yellow stain if it gets on clothing, towels etc. Initially expensive

I was skeptical at first as it is more pricey than a lot of sunscreens, and I was also unsure if I should only put it on once a day. I thought it was worth giving it a go but still took my trusty factor 30 with me just in case. My partner and I were in Cuba for 2 weeks in extreme heat. It is not quite the same consistency as normal sun cream and is less opaque. The application was good however since it rubbed in easily and was not greasy or oily, but I felt it was ever so slightly sticky. I applied it in the morning, waited 15 minutes for it to soak in and then got dressed. My boyfriend one ... more

Advantages Advantages Don't burn, only use once a day, not greasy

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive (but worth it).

I've always been a fan of Soltan suncream as it rubs in easily and doesn't smell too bad for suncream. However after using Riemann P20 I'm never going back...! I have quite fair skin and no matter which sun cream I use I always burn a bit. With this I spent two weeks in the Caribbean and only burnt once - the day I used normal suncream! I put this on in a morning after having a shower. It takes 15minutes to become active which was usually by the time I got out of the bathroom! Some older versions take 90 minutes so watch out for this if you're getting it off Amazon. It's like a watery oil but ... more

Advantages Advantages Fully protected all day with just 1 application with Piz Buin No staining, no rashes or stinging

Disadvantages Disadvantages Havent found any yet!

I used to swear by this product even though it stains your clothes and stings your eyes when you apply to your face however somebody then introduced me to PIZ BUIN 1 DAY LONG - and in my opinion its a far far far superior product. You still only apply once 1st thing in the morning, it doesnt sting, it doesnt stain and it doesnt cause rashes. Its excellent for kids, no matter how long they spend in or out of water they still dont burn. Yes its more expensive that the traditional sun tan lotion but as you only apply once a day it works out cheaper in the long run, a 200ml bottle lasts all week ... more
