I used to wear a lot of lip gloss when I was younger, but now I'm a bit older I tend to go more with lipstick. I do still own the odd lip gloss though, and one that's still lurking in my make-up bag is Rimmel Jelly Gloss. ~What is it?~ This is lip gloss which comes in a tube. I think Lancome were the first brand to do this, their product juicy tubes are still a bestseller. Advantages Affordable. Nice colours.
Disadvantages Staying power is not great.

Lip gloss is now a popular way of adding a little sparkle to your lips without it looking like you are plastered in make-up. A young, fresh and modern look, that unlike lipstick, adds high shine with very little or even no colour. I’ve been waiting forever for Ciao to add this product, I’ve almost finished my tube now! I bought this a few months ago from Super Drug, it cost me the nice little price of £1.99, which is definitely a bargain for something so good. My new little best friend comes in a quite solid plastic tube, it’s flexible enough to squeeze though. It’s about three inches tall and about an inch wide, although it down taper down towards the lid. It’s a typical tube shape to be honest. Advantages Nice colour, nice quantity of colour, looks good.
Disadvantages Hard to control the amount that comes out, doesn't last long.

I bought this, with my Rimmel Blush (see review) at my local chemist's last Friday. I needed a decent new gloss, and the cheap price (£3:49 I think) as well with the attractive packaging, convinced me to buy (especially as there was a distinct lack of choice of brands), but anyway, as always, I've digressed.. Now, I've always avoided these 'jelly glosses' as they sound tacky and childlike and they just haven't appealed to me. Advantages Cheap, nice texture
Disadvantages Barely noticeable, tacky packaging

I just found this gloss whilst digging around in my make-up drawers. I was given it by my mum a while ago because she'd somehow acquired it and doesn't like wearing lip glosses. I gratefully took it, although wasn't convinced I would like it and as such I've only really worn it on a couple of occasions. To look at, this gloss is nothing special. It comes in a 10ml tube with silver writing and is applied by squeezing the gloss through a hole in the slanted nozzle. Everything about the packaging screams cheap. Sweet Jelly For The 5 Seconds It Stays On Your Lips For. 08/06/2010

Advantages Looks nice until it rubs off after 5 minutes. Cheap enough.
Disadvantages Not long-lasting.

*Introduction* Lancome's Juicy Tubes are one of my favourite lip glosses. During my time at sixth form, unfortunately I could not afford these. Instead I opted for a cheaper copy-cat version in Rimmel's Sweet Jelly Gloss. I recently started reusing this as I had finally finished my Lancome Juicy Tube and needed an interim until I had the chance to go to Lakeside to restock. I ended up buying this lip gloss (despite having far too many already) on my local shop at Asda. I ended up wandering past the cosmetic counter and couldn't help but be lured in by the display of these cute looking lip glosses on top of the Rimmel counter. They reminded me of the Lancôme juicy tubes, except a lot cheaper, and I thought I would buy one just to try them. I chose no40-moreish, mainly because it is a really nice pale pink colour. My name's Louise and I'm addicted to lipgloss! Ok, so I've admitted it. On my birthday, I decided I wanted to give a Rimmel Jelly Gloss a go as it had been sitting on the stand saying 'Buy me!' for weeks. I bought shade 020 Yummy. Looks: The gloss comes in a cute little 10ml tube. It has a clear lid with a flat bottom so you can stand it on this on your dressing table. At the top of the tube is chrome silver area with Rimmel written in it and a little silver lips design. ~ Rimmel Jelly Gloss ~ ~ Kiss Me Quick! ~ I usually buy Rimmel Cool Matte Mousse Foundation and I went into super drug to pick some more up to find that they had an offer on - Free Jelly Lip Gloss when you buy selected Rimmel products - well if something is free you don't refuse, whether you really wear lip gloss or not, I'm not really a lip gloss lover, I forget to keep re-applying it and prefer lip balms. ~ The Price ~ Although I had it free (not sure if this offer is still on at super drug) it's usually around £3.99. Disadvantages Pretty much everything

I picked this up a few weeks ago as Boots had a 3 for 2 offer where you get the cheapest item free. This was the cheapest item so I got it for free thank God, but the RRP is £3.99 which I personally think is a bit of a rip off because the product lacks in quality. This lipgloss sounded really good which is why I picked it up. It is enriched with vitamin A, C and E and has all the benefits of Royal Jelly. There are a few different shades (around 10) to choose from, but I have it in 'Moreish' which is a baby pink. The colour in the tube is gorgous - quite vibrant and it has a really lovely hint ... more
