    Nail varnish has the ability to look chic and stunning; it also has the ability of looking cheap, tacky and ugly. The way in which it is applied, the chosen shade and the colour finish determine which quality a woman ends up with on her nails. Garish colours, such as lime green or egg-yolk yellow look terrible on most people, even teenage girls who can normally pull-off any look because of their age. The wrong shade of red can look tarty and give the wrong impression. Black and very dark blue can look gothic and messy, though of course this is all a matter of taste, isn't it. Colour is ... more

    I love freebie sites and I am signed up to several of them a lot of the time I get hardly anything for the messing about I do at times signing up to things. A while back Rimmel had an offer going where you could enter a competition to win one of three colours of nail varnish from the new range they have brought out. I entered and requested a deep red the other two were a peach and a pale pink neither of which are the kind of colours I tend to wear.     I purchased this product from boots, it was £4 The shades available in this product are: Insolence- this is a silver nail varnish Daisy Chain this is a white nail polish which can even be used for tips on French manicures. Sunset Bronze this is a lovely bronze shade, i particular love this for holidays when im tanned it goes lovely with my skin colour. Chocolate Factory - this is a light brown i think that this colour is great for women with blonde hair, i think brown polish on blondes goes really well because the colours don't clash.     Today I'm going to tempt you with the delights of my newly painted fingernails and toenails. Because I've brought a new nail polish you see, a beautiful new nail polish which goes by the rather bizarre shade name of 'Zeitgeist'. Now I'm not a make-up snob but this is the only Rimmel product I own as I've always considered Rimmel as a bit of a 15 year old schoolgirls brand but this nail polish has changed my mind. Completely.     Introduction I only occasionally wear nail varnish when I use light, neutral colours. However I recently took up belly dancing and I wanted my toes and hand nails look nice while dancing. I was specifically looking for a colour that matched my costume. Of all shades available 'Velvet Rose' from Rimmel came closest to what I wanted. The packaging The bottle that you can see on the third product photo is small, round and has a handle of about the same size with a normal, thin brush.     I took out my kids for a weekend trip and I popped in to a Boots to treat myself because I deserve it… Unfortunately I haven’t found any of the 3 things I wanted to buy so the next shop was the Superdrug opposite to Boots. I wanted to buy a red nail varnish for myself but I ended up with 3.     About two years ago I was in the pharmacy and realised I had no cash to pay for my purchase. The nearest cash point being some way away I looked around the shop for items to take me upto the £5 minimum card spend. The item was duly used once and fell into a drawer.     I tried this for the first time over the weekend. I wanted a black nail varnish, and although I’m a fan of Jessica and OPI nail stuff, I wanted a cheaper one this time because I only intend it to wear for a night out so it doesn’t need to last ages or be really good quality. I chose Rimmel because I already buy some of my makeup from there and there was a 3 for 2 offer on in Boots on the Rimmel counter. I’d heard that the Lycra wear range is supposed to be really good and as well as lasting ages they prevent nails from breaking while it is on.     I got my 60 seconds extreme nail varnish as part of a gift set (with an eye shadow and a wristband). I received this product for Christmas. About the Nail Polish --------------------- I received an 8ml bottle, in colour 875 Zeitgeist. On the back of the Nail Polish it claims to give 'perfect coverage in one coat. Dries in 60 seconds. Flammable.' Did it only need one coat? -------------------------- Well I applied one coat and let it dry and the colour is meant to be shimmer purple and green.
