Advantages: Cheap, Good Coverage, All Day Coverage Disadvantages: Glitter Makes It Unsuitable For Some
...something cheap and quick and Rimmel seem to have a good reputation for quality cosmetics at cheap prices, so why not?
This 30ml Rimmel foundation stood out at me with it's girly pink cap and lettering, also it stood out because of price, at the time of my purchase it was an amazing £3.95, which was a lot less than my usual foundation and certainly a lot less than I had spent in the past, sometimes I had spent up to £20 trying to find the right ... ...foundation at this price.
Rimmel has also brought out a Recover concealer to compliment this foundation and I believe this is a good idea as you get the benefit of the ideal amount of coverage for your skin as this foundation on it's own may struggle if you have redness, spots or marks on your face.
I wouldn't recommend this foundation if you have fine lines or wrinkles as the glittery effect will emphasis those lines and I think it may just sink ...

...something which rimmel have got right. It is also quite long lasting, although it needs to be retouched in the day.
Use it if you don't mind looking shiney and kind of clown-like (or at night time when it is flattering) Not truly a bad product, but not recommended. ...

Advantages: Nice consistency, gives even coverage Disadvantages: A little sticky when worn alone, doesn't last 12 hours
Rimmel is a well-established, respected brand, especially within the UK. It's fairly expensive, but with products like makeup, most girls (maybe some men too!) find that the more you spend, the more beautiful you look. This foundation is part of Rimmel's cosmetics, and found easily within supermarkets, drug stores, and beauty stores in the makeup sections. It's on sale for around £5.60-£5.80, fairly expensive for not a particularly big bottle, but ... ...perfect colour, and came across Rimmel Recover. I've been using it for the past year and am very happy with it. I find it is light enough to use for most of the day - which is perfect as I'm at work all day, busy at weekends seeing family and friends, etc, and have little time to be constantly re-applying make up. I can use this make up both for work and going out drinking in the evenings, as I'm comfortable with how natural the colour looks on my ...

Advantages: cheap, good coverage, Disadvantages: none that I can see
I bought this foundation last week as I had a wedding to attend and wanted a foundation that would keep my skin hydrated and well covered all day! I usually have quite dry sensitive skin but as I am currently pregnant, I have found my skin much drier and much more sensitive! I usually use Max Factor colour adapt but I am penny counting at the moment so thought Id try a cheaper alternative!
I purchased the foundation in Asda for £4.98, which I thought ... ...anti- fatigue foundation. The foundation contains Vitamins C and E. But I have seen for as little as £2.98 or as much as £6.49 so shop about!!
Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin that can be found in foods such as nuts, oils and fruits such as mango, kiwi and veg like broccoli and spinach. Vitamin E added to lotions, creams, and other skin care products helps keep skin looking younger. It helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. ...

Advantages: improved texture of skin, didn't irritate, smells nice Disadvantages: too shimmery and sparkly
...look a bit healthier.
Rimmel Recover Foundation seemed to be the answer to my problems. It says on the front of the tube that it contains vitamins C and E - which are supposedly great for pepping up the skin, and it describes itself as an "Illuminating, anti-fatigue foundation". It also states on the back of the tube that it contains an "energyboost complex" which re-plumps the skin and replenishes the complexion, and lasts all day. Sounds like ... ...other people like me, so Rimmel should really maximise on that and make the writing clearer.
It cost me £6.35 from Boots the Chemist, for a 30ml tube - so I think this is quite dear for a lower end of the market product. Strangly enough, I think if this had been made by a brand such as Max Factor, I probably would have said this was cheap. Just goes to show how marketing works!!
They had five shades of this in Boots - and I chose True Nude. The ...

Advantages: Price, Readily available, covers well, light to wear, no wastage, lasts hours , consistant Disadvantages: you look so fab you may get too much male attention to handle ! phew!
...I really love the Rimmel Recover Foundation and nearly always return to buy it, again and again over other similar products and brands. It comes in a plastic bottle with stopper in the top to control the flow of the foundation as it comes out. The lid is a decent size too, not fiddley to remove and bright pink so you can find it when you drop it !! (I do a lot of dropping of lids, and a lot of time looking for where they rolled to !) I don't like ... ...contents near the end. This Rimmel foundation you get very little wastage, when I get to the last dregs I just stand it on its lid, upside-down, and very quickly I can get enough out for another days use !! Its amazing what you can get from a seemingly empty bottle.
The foundation its self is very runny liquid, but this doesn't mean that you need more to get coverage. It smooths onto the skin with ease and covers instantly, and with out being thick ...

Rimmel Recover Foundation
Finally at the grand old age of 24 and having been using make up I suppose for nearly 10 years now I have found the perfect foundation for not only my skin type but also for durability, cost and sheer brilliance of use.
Rimmel Recover Foundation has been out now for probably about a year and I have used nothing since I tried it when it was new out onto the shop floor. The adverts were what first attracted me to buy this ... ...of foundation which is said to help you recover from whatever stress you have been putting your face through.
This foundation cost me just over £6 at £6.25p from Boots and I have bought it for about the same price from Superdrug. The bottle is a beige and pink design which is not the prettiest bottle I have seen but that is really irrelevant when the inside foundation is so good. I have bought the shade called Soft Beige 200 but there are lots of ...

-- Smell --
This foundation stinks, at first I quiet took to the scent, but I began to hate it.
-- Texture --
I applied a small amount of the foundation to my finger tip the liquid foundation to me felt more like a ... ...packaging as soon as I laid eyes on it, but I didn't let it get the better of me and I still purchased the product... I wish I didn't after the results.
The packaging is very cheap but you can't really expect anything better for a 6quid foundation.
--Application--
Apply foundation to a foundation sponge and then apply directly to your face. This is not as easy as it sounds as it's easy to apply unevenly, particularly around the eyes, and the mouth ...

Advantages: Light, easy to apply - no tide lines! Disadvantages: Not very good coverage and not long lasting
I'm very loyal to Rimmel as I love all of their products, so yet again here I am blowing the Rimmel trumpet!
Rimmel Recover Foundation can be found at most places that stock the Rimmel range, it's priced at £6.49, but quite often it is on special offer at either a reduced price or as part of a 'buy one and get a free lipstick' type offer. Also if you look online you can usually find an outlet that will sell it at discounted value.
I'm very pale ... ...good match for my skin. It is also available in darker shades but I've not seen it in shades available for Asian / afro-Caribbean skin shades. You can apply it with a sponge or with your fingers, it goes into the skin very easily and looks really natural, you don't get the nasty orange tide marks that you can get with heaver foundations. What I really like is this has a shimmer added in the foundation, so your face really does light up, it gives ...

Advantages: Cheap & cheerful Disadvantages: Waaaaay too glittery
I bought Rimmel Recover because even though I rarely use foundation, I do like a little something for those days when I don't get much sleep or have had a bit too much wine the night before. That is why a 'recovery' foundation, full of vitamins and 'light reflectors' sounded perfect. Also, to my shame, I am a sucker for the most basic marketing weapons and seeing Kate Moss looking fresh as a daisy on the publicity was the final push towards the (Superdrugs) ... ...flattering effect. In my opinion Rimmel has managed to produce a foundation that makes you look like you've smeared your 'Watershine Diamonds' lipgloss all over your face by mistake!
The worst thing is that this effect is not always obvious when you apply it in the light of your bathroom for example, it's when you catch your reflection on a mirror in a shop that you are in for a shock.
I stopped using this product after a while because, as I said, ...

Advantages: Light coverage, pleasant smell, cheap Disadvantages: wears off easily
...offer, secondly I can wear Rimmel products without irritation ( apart from the plumping lipsticks), and the "anti-fatigue" and "illuminating" wording appealed to me.
The colour is 101 Porcelain, as I am fair skinned. It is a nice shade, kind of nude, which I like, and the texture of the foundation is smooth and creamy. When you apply it, it rather feels like mousse, very light, and I wondered if it would stay put. I like the smell, it is pleasantly ... ...during the day, but this Rimmel foundation was disappointing.
I wouldn't buy it again. It would be okay for my teenage daughter, but she doesn't need anti-fatigue yet ! But what I mean is that it is not substantial enough to stay on, yet it seems to give a fair coverage which must be absorbed in to the skin over a few hours. I didn't notice any coming off on my top. I would think it would suit oily or dry skin, being neither too thick nor greasy, ...

Advantages: Affordable, Shimmer. Disadvantages: Light coverage, doesn't last long, not good on oily skin.
Rimmel products are affordable and usually good-quality. After I admiringly observed a friend's glittering complexion I couldn't help but be motivated to wear the same foundation that she was wearing- and expect to get the same results. The friendly price of the foundation was a sure invitation to lure me into buying it, as a student I can't afford to let money burn a hole in my pocket. However, one must be aware that not all skin types will react ... ...with normal and sensitive skin, which would definately have better effects when its designed specifically for that skin type which would explain why my friend, who has normal skin, had a refreshingly radiant complexion. I have very fair skin, but it is quite uneven, so I need a decent amount of coverage.I chose shade 101 "Porcelain." It applies smoothly and evenly, and doesn't clump as you smooth it over your skin, which is one of my pet hates. It is also very easy to blend. You wont get any nasty tide lines with it.
The claims of it being illuminating are true, I usually use a matt foundation with a separate highlighter, but this does it all, and only seems to highlight the parts that need it, you don't end up looking like you've run a marathon or having a shiny ...

Advantages: Nice texture and smell. Good colour and coverage. Illuminating. Good value Disadvantages: Too shimmery for day time and on T-zone
I have combination skin with a shiny t-zone and dry cheeks and am on a quest to find a good foundation. I have quite a yellow complexion which can look sallow when I'm tired (which I often am as I start work at 6am!), and I often find that some foundations are too pink or orangey for me. This foundation was on offer in Boots and I had seen the adverts describing its illuminationg properties so I thought I would give it a try. It has a nice texture ... ...a liquid foundation it has a slightly powdery feel to it which meant there was less need to mattify it with powder, and therefore I don't feel quite so caked in make up wearing this. It also smells really nice. The coverage is good and the colour (Soft Beige) was a great match for my skin. It does make my skin look more radiant however my only criticism would be that it is a bit too shimmery for everyday use; it looked a bit like I had mixed Benefit ...
