Advantages Advantages Easy to use, holds 1000s of songs, good sound quality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor battery life

I bought this player about 6 months ago and I was looking forward to starting to try to fill the 20GB of hard disc space of the Rio Riot. This was looking like quite a sizeable upgrade from 256MB of flash memory that my old player had. The player itself was a bit of a hassle to install as it removed RealOne Player and installed the rather ancient Real Jukebox. Still, I reversed this, got RealOne back and got the file transfer process up and running in RealOne. That is one niggle about this player, it doesn't create a new drive letter, you have to use special software to transfer music to it ... more

    Advantages Advantages Loads of space

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit big

Two years ago i purchased an mp3 play that came with 8mb internal memory and a slot for a smart media memory card. i was so impressed with it the time it was about the time when i had first discovered mp3s and i took it everywhere with me. the only bad thing about it was the fact that it could only hold about 1 albums worth of music. since then the advances in technology have enabled an mp3 player to have not 20mb of memory but 20gb of memory, enabling you not only to carry your favourite album around with you to listen to but your entire record collection. when i decided i wanted a mp3 play ... more

    Advantages Advantages Capacity, functionality,

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Size, recharge time

I bought one of these on eBay a while ago, the only thing I can say that was disappointing, is the size. You see images of peoples hands with the Rio sitting in it, well it really is that big, and to me maybe because I have smaller hands it seemed a lot bigger... that really is the downsize. However with a 20 GB hard drive I did not even fill half the space up with songs, I worked out that you could fit around 10,000 songs on... (Roughly). It has a great menu to access songs and you can organize them very easily. In the dark you can see very clearly with its green back light (gives a glow in ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, sounds good

Disadvantages Disadvantages size, only uses Real player for data transfer

Had one of these since xmas 2003. Spec includes 20G drive easy to use menu system playlist, random play DJ mode FM radio 10 hour battery case, usb lead and software is included I've loaded about 100 albums onto it so far (using 4G of the drive up), the biggest problem being Real player and the rather slow USB link. The battery life if charged and used each day is ok, if the player is left for a few days it will start to discharge itself, this can be a bit of a problem if you forget to charge it. The sound quality with the supplied ear phones is marvelous.I also use it connected to my HiFi a ... more

    Advantages Advantages brillant memory

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor battery life, bulky

Here are lists of the pros and cons of the rio riot 20gb memory mp3 player Pros: the memory is fantastic, you can hold over a thousand songs and you can hold more or less depending on how high or low you want the quality of the song to be. you can store music by genre, artist, album or search through the a-z list. The rio riot has an inbuilt radio so you can listen to the radio as well as all the songs youve downloaded onto it. you can buy an attachment so that you can hook the mp3 player up to your car cons: the battery life is very very poor. it takes ages to charge and runs out very quickly ... more
