    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

My young niece came to stay for the half term week and brought with her a supply of favourite goodies 'just in case' we didn't have them. One item she brought was Robinsons apple and blackcurrant, no added sugar, squash. She was quite right because although we had the orange squash, since every one has all ways said they didn't like blackcurrant, we didn't have this at home. So she did us all a favour because we all ended up liking it and I will probably be buying it again. ○◊○ Who are Robinsons? ○◊○ The company started as Robinson & Belville in 1823 making ... more

    Advantages Advantages Refreshing, subtle flavourings

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Strong sweetened taste

As much as I love the refreshing taste of pure juices, I refuse to pay the prices that some of our local supermarkets insist on charging. As an alternative I tend to browse the section of squash drinks, in particular the Robinson's range. Robinson's offer several different flavoured squash drinks, including Pink Grapefruit, Summer Fruits, Blackcurrant along with their new range of fruit shoots, however it was the Apple & Blackcurrant flavour that caught my eye. The deep reddish/purple coloured liquid is very striking when compared to some of the more insipid colours in the range, and as it's ... more

IF you read my diet coke op you will know that I am trying to cut down my consumption of diet coke so that I drink the recommended daily amount of water. I don’t drink any hot drinks and I find water a very boring drink and have to resort to flavouring it to encourage myself to drink it. As a child I was often given squash to drink and decided that was going to be the way forward. I started off with orange squash but then remembered how much I had like blackcurrant squash as a child. Off I went to the supermarket to purchase some. On arrival at Tesco I was hit by a whole aisle of ... more

Advantages Advantages lots of flavours, good price, nice appearance

Disadvantages Disadvantages too much water makes it horrible

I have always loved Robinson's juice it has been with me my whole life and they have widened their range of drinks to appeal more to younger children but still the older among us love it. I loved it when Robinson's used to do offers with the drinks and you could save up tokens and get something free or they would do competitions it increases sales but also makes drinking more fun or maybe I am on my own with that thought. The Robinson's bottles of juice cost about 90p each although I am not quite sure on the exact price, it depends where you buy it. They have many different flavours, I like ... more

Advantages Advantages Great taste without using half the bottle

Disadvantages Disadvantages It gets used to quickly

As my children got older I started experimenting with different squashes - not just orange. Robinsons Apple and Blackcurrant has become a real favourite. I must confess to trying cheaper supermarket brands but they just don't make the grade, no taste and very weak. The taste of Robinsons Apple and Blackcurrant is excellent. It really does taste of apple and blackcurrant, more blackcurrant than apple I think.. Also you don't need to use half the bottle to get a good taste. Only a little in the bottom of a tumbler gives a refreshing drink, although it can be a bit yuk if you make it too weak. It ... more

    Advantages Advantages Light and refreshing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be expensive if you have kids are drink lots of it

I buy robinsons squash usually when they are on offer in asda, two 1 litre bottles for £1.50. They come in so many different flavours, I love the blackcurrant and apple one, it is very fruity, sweet and refreshing. There is also strawberry and kiwi, peach, pear, orange and summer fruits flavour. I cannot taste the difference between the no added sugar and one with sugar so I always go for the no added sugar one. I like mine to be very weak as it can be a little too sweet if not diluted enough. It is a great choice if you want to try and cut out drinking fizzy drinks throughout the day. I get ... more

Advantages Advantages Contains vitamins and real fruit juice

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly bitter taste, and needs to be made strone.

Robinsons Special R Apple and Blackcurrant fruit squash is a concentrated soft drink, which has to be diluted with water to drink. It is somewhat dissapointing compared to the other flavours in the Robinsons range, which include orange, lemon, summer fruits, cherry and so on. The blackcurrant taste is very distinctive, yet something has gone wrong with the blending of the apple flavouring. When you drink it you kind of get a distorted blackcurrant taste, almost bitter I would say. This may be due to the 9% apple juice content compared to only 2% blackcurrant, so the acid from the apple juice ... more
