I purchased my Rolex Explorer II back in 1999, original price was about £2100 pounds but after a Tax refund at the airport (Expat) got the price down to £1800. Current pricing is around £2350. So what do you get for your money? A very nice example of a hand made Swiss watch, which will last a lifetime. I opted for the white face, which I prefer (also available with black face). The sales pitch for a Rolex is that it's for people who appreciate quality. Despite it being a sales pitch it is true. You shouldn't buy a Rolex just to show off. This is a product for those of us who hate cheap and nasty products which were designed to cost and don't function properly or which break easily.
