I have used the 971 mk 11 for over 5 years. I found it a difficult amp to live with at first as it has a rather laid back and lazy tonal quality on the main speaker switch. However if you use the remote speaker option the sound quality livens up and the amp becomes much more vibrant and engaging.
I keep trying other amps, but always seem to return to the Rotel. It sounds wonderful with my Marantz CD 17 and Nakamichi BX 300 cassette deck. It isn't entirely compatible with my Leak troughline tuner, sounding a bit thin. ...

I have had the Rotel RA-971 Mk II for little under a year, i am using the amp with the Rotel Rcd-9658x CD player and MS206 speakers. I have been extremely satisfied with the quality of the sound. Of course it isn’t the best amp in the world but it is exceptionally good for its price. I would recommend this to any one who wants an amp under £300.
