“Diesel refinement”

published 09/05/2003

Diesel engine, interior quality, refinement

Rear legroom, tyre wear

I've had the Rover as a company car for 30,000 miles. Difficult to fault it, although it will appeal to a certain type of driver, those who appreciate style, refinement, quality and a smooth ride rather than pace, aggression and flash looks. The engine is outstanding (a slightly modified BMW)...

excellent for MPG, fast, good looks

quite expensive

the car looks awesome on the outside and beautiful on the inside. Behind the wheel the car seems stiff, extremely well put together which is reassuring when giving it some when cornering. The seats were very comftorble and although only the club model the trim was very nice especially the wood...

I'm on my 2nd Rover 75 now, a saloon with all the bells and whistles...I had the estate version on recommendation of a truly knowledgeable friend in the motor trade and loved it..then the leather clad, sunroofed Connosieur turned up at a laughable price so I went for it... Both versions offer a...

“Comfortably faulty”

I've owned my Rover for about 2 years. It's a good looking, comfortable car, which I enjoy driving. It's a pleasure cruising along the motorway but not much fun when parking or manoeuvering in tight spaces. It has a high waist restricting visibilty especially to the rear. It's packed with gadgets...

This is probably the best car I have ever purchased, and I have to agree with all the other reviews on this site.It would get a full 5 star rating if I had not been plagued with parts reliability. I have owned the car since new July 2001, I have suffered the costs of coil springs all round, front fuel pump , mass air flow controller due to loss of power, ECU due to flood damage design fault ensure you remove the drain pipes below the bulkhead or it fills the bulkhead and kills your ECU cost £1000 to repair, and finally hydraulic clutch master cylinder cost £641 to repair, Other web sites point out most of these faults mentioned, I guess I purchased a car built on a Monday

Yes I know that unfortunatly after years of unfaultable service MG/Rover has sadly gone into liquidation. Even more sader is that I never got to own a Rover and when I finally started looking at them the worst happend, however, I still will purchase a second-hand Rover when the time comes. Why...

“Disadvantages of Diesal”

published 21/11/2000

Nice looks, very good economy

Hard to locate

I have test driven all the models of the Rover 75 with a view to purchasing one....but I cannot find the one I want. The biggest disadvantage is the Diesal spec is is such a short supply. Has anyone else found this or do they know where to get one. He is something that perhaps you did not know...

Rover 75 CDTI. 36000, The clutch went ! All new clutch parts required, Duel mass Flywheel, Slave Cylinder, Clutch Plate, Cover and Master Cylinder. Parts cot £ 734.76 Plus Labour and VAT !!!! All the parts were kept in stock by the main dealer. Is there a problem with BMW clutches ??? We had no problems before with the clutch, until the clutch decided to start slipping and completely went within 1 mile.

I have now purchased a second hand Rover 75 and I am more than delighted with it's features, performance and road handling. Road holding is excellent whether you are driving around town or on the motorway. Comfort, style and looks are in it's favour. The 2 litre Diesel engine sounds good not like...

Very reliable

Looses value quickly

We have owned a Rover 75 diesel for nearly 5 years. In my opinion, it has been one of the most reliable cars that I have had the pleasure of owning. It has comfort, luxury, style and reliability of more expensive manufacturers. I have had the alternator pack up, needed a new battery and very...

I own an 04 Reg. Rover 75 Connoisseur SE. CDTI. Auto. Done 15.000 miles. Wheel nuts/bolts and drive shafts are rusting. Other than that, the car is very good. Ride is sedately comfortable, they do wallow a bit on corners. Doctors etc. used to drive Rovers when I was a boy, 50 + years ago. They don't make cars like they used too. Thank god I say. I've been driving 50 years, driven most cars. Todays cars are superb, the Rover 75 is amongst the best in its class and very good value.
