My mini life.......

Advantages: You can park anywhere, great fun, cheap to run,
Disadvantages: not the safest car on the planet.

...new £28 Front wing Genuine Rover - Brand new £25.50 Sill Genuine Rover - brand new £9 Other than eBay there are hundreds of mini specialist spares and accessory dealers in the country and most of them offer mail order services. The mini scene is alive and well despite the demise of Rover, so you shouldn't worry about the availability of parts. Just buy Mini Magazine or Mini World magazine and you will see what I mean. You can even buy a brand ...

...other cars around; the Land Rover behind even flashed us. Just picture it, just picture this little tiny Mini with five potheads packed in like sardines. Just picture the atmosphere being filled by rouge particles of long cannabis soaked hair, every last inch of the car, moshing away. THAT is what a Mini is all about. It's quite cheap petrol wise, doesn't guzzle that much because it's still a reasonably small engine and there isn't too much weight ...
...stoners in it. The inside of the car even manages to offer a few hiding places and pockets to stick things such as mobile phones, or other stuff should the Police pull you over. And five stoners in a Mini at all times of day and night leads to Police attention believe me! The seats are small and very uncomfortable, oh and getting in and out of the back seat is a nightmare especially under the influence. As the driver of the Mini though you are rewarded ...

Rover Mini Cooper 13i

Advantages: Everybody loves Minis
Disadvantages: Rover are not an easy company to deal with

...Minis, so went to a Rover Dealer at Trident Weybridge to order a Rover 200. There I saw a brand-new Mini Cooper Sports and couldnt resist. I ordered one for August 1st delivery and this is where my story begins though I wish it had ended. Rover offered me 4,300 GBPounds as Part Exchange in July 1998, and quoted me a price of 11,000 GBpounds for the new model. On July 31st, when it came to pay for the new model, my previous mini had been reduced ...
...has been returned to a Rover dealer for various repairs 19 times, and has spent a total of 3 months off the road. One repair in particular took 3 weeks in the workshop and when it was returned to me, the fault had not been rectified. The dealership claimed it was a design fault I had to Live with, and they couldn't fix it that week because one of the sales managers had crashed his car and needed the courtesy car I was using. I refused to take my ...

MINIS REALLY RULE

Advantages: An excellant, reliable, fun car which is relatively cheap to run.
Disadvantages: Sportspack option causes less nimble handling and some owners have problems with the steering veering to the left.

The 1.3 Mini Cooper is an excellant car. However, is it really a Mini. I must confess I own 2 Minis, an X-reg and a C-reg. I also own an extremely rare 1980's Mini Van. So, some would expect my opinion to be biased. Well..... If you are looking out for a small classy looking car, which is cheap to run and look after, with many tuning capabilities and excellant handling, then the Mini is just for you. The 1.3i is very reliable, and so is the twin-point ...
...padiham where the power can be increased VERY significantly. The ECU also has a Superchips, re-programmable Computer unit which can be added for even more raw Horsepower! On the other hand, if you are looking for a small car for fun Sundays, and clubs, then maybe an older Mini is better. They are easier to work on and parts are cheap (I have a C-reg city, looking totally standard with a Metro 1300 Auto engine which I fitted myself) It also has a ...

The best mini ever made

Advantages: its great fun
Disadvantages: no more being made so I struggle to get parts

I have always said to myself that under no circumstances would I ever buy a mini. I have. Well sort of. I own a 1.3 Mini Cooper and I love it. After watching the Italian Job a few years ago Michael Caine made an average performance car look amazing. I went looking for one and found a beauty. It can fit in any parking space, has an amazing miles per gallon ratio and is still super-sexy. I can, surprisingly fit all my grocery shopping in its boot ...

Advantages: Low part costs, image, part of british culture
Disadvantages: strugle for people over 6ft to drive

...happy owner of a 1996 Rover Mini 1.3 Sidewalk. I bought this car as a stop gap, just because I could get it cheap. I love this little car and can't bear to get rid of it. The engine in this model is the 63BHP single point injection version. Performance is great for a 1.3 it will eat most boy racers to around 50, but after that great boost to 50 it loses torque in fourth. I have had 95mph out of my car and never want to do it again, poor little car ...
...if you cover a lot of motorway miles. It is great around town and plenty of torque for hills. Handling is excellent, It is literally like driving a Go Cart, you throw that little car into the corners and it just takes them with ease, very little roll even on the sharpest corners. When you drive this car it feels so quick because you are sat on the ground. I found that the brakes weren't brilliant and because of my height, I found it difficult to ...

You have not lived till you have driven a mini!

Advantages: Small, fun, fast, and lots fo choose from.
Disadvantages: can rust if not looked after.

The mini is a great car. Second in car of the centry behind the model T ford. Autocar's car of the centry and the car of the centry of many others. I love my minis they are great. I have driven other cars, including a hight modified vauxhall astra gte, but I love minis. I am currently driving a mini with 1400cc stage 3 engine with all the trimmings. It is a tatty looking B reg car (much more fun when you leave other cars for dust and they think, ...
...By next year the engine will be in another of my minis, which I am working on at the moment, it is a 1967 mini with all the seams and gutters removed, a fibreglass flip front, bucket seats, vented discs with 4 pot calipers etc etc etc. You can do anything you like to a mini and personalise it in which ever way you want. People in other minis wave and flash their lights. It is a great feeling. You get to drive a car which won many rallies, and road ...

...later P (97) version where Rover blessed the Mini with a tall 4th gear, enabling the nipper to exceed 100mph, but I would not advise silly driving in these cars, you would need a roll cage for that kind of driving, and certainly off the public roads! I have done it out of curiosity!! I have a full electric moon roof in mine, with full complimentary green leather seats to enhance the British racing green exterior. With the added extras of the SRS ...
...must say thank you to Rover for the taller 4th gear again; motorway driving is a pleasure! I am 6 feet tall and manage to drive it fine, I have extending seat brackets on my driver seat, and space is great, there really is an open feeling in the cockpit as the visibility is also far superior to modern day cars. Rust is a problem so wax oil is a necessity for all owners. The sills are the worst, but can vary depending on where you live. Boot space ...

The most fun on 4 wheels

Advantages: Fun and cheap to run
Disadvantages: Safety and comfort

I have had my Rover Mini Cooper for 7 years now. It has done over 65,000 miles and still going well. I have also driven many other cars in my time but I would honestly say that the Mini is the most fun. Road handing is excellent. I would also point out that the Mini has such a following that in the summer months if a day out looking at cars is your kind of thing then you won't run out of Mini shows nationwide! Being a 1999 Mini, obviously there ...
...have previously owned. For example my Mini has leather seats, walnut dash, better sound insulation and carpet. Also being more upto date it has drivers airbag and side impact bars. On the side of safety, it is a small car designed quite a long time ago, I would want to have an argument with a lorry, but saying that I have myself avoided an accident using the cars agility and nimbleness where other cars may not have survived! On economy, the mini ...

Quick review of Rover Mini 1.3

This is the best car ever... I cant say anything else,is so damn cool. Imagine an ordinary day, a road full of cars, bored people around and suddenly a little fast car, with unique 60's look which combines the race type look with the classic british luxury and pop art style, takes the turn on the left screaming.. making everyone to say "hey, what is going on? with a smile on their faces... In my opinion this is what mini is all about.. Something so stylish, something real in this fake, full of plastic world. yes, everyone loves mini because mini is REAL.. ...

MINI ME

Advantages: Small, eye catching, cheap to run, easy to clean
Disadvantages: noisy, small boot, bumpy ride

I learnt to drive in a vauxhall corsa so when i bought my first car - a mini equinox 1.2 it was a totally different experience. Its like driving a dodgem at a fair but you are on a real road. Once i got used to the different sounds and the feel of the car i fell in love with it and wouldnt swap it. Its a little thrill seeker at heart, makes driving fun, uses little petrol so you can fill a tank for about £15 and it will last for miles (I dont know ...
...it up last week and have driven 100 miles and i still have half a tank left so very economical.) Driving along a road at 30 mph feels like you are speeding as you are lower down and closer to the road, and it handles corners brilliantly, every time i go round a corner i laugh as it hugs the corner and you get round better than anyone else. They are comfortable to drive but because the wheels are only 13 inches on average you are closer to the ground ...

How unlucky

Advantages: Style and ease of parking
Disadvantages: space

The day after I received the car I noticed a puddle of oil on the floor underneath it, when I opened the bonnet I found there was no dipstick and an engine covered in oil. On the chrome headlamp surrounds, rust had already started to appear. Still in the same week, I noticed there was damage on the rear. It had been driven into something and had had the scratches touched in with the wrong colour! My Car eats tyres for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. ...
...1500 miles, and I just could not stop smiling every time I went around a corner as the Passenger sun visor kept on falling down. If you're over 6ft then it isn't a very comfortable ride. But it does have some good qualities such as. Excellent miles per gallon, Even with a very heavy right foot I could still get 43 miles per gallon. Which other car gives you leather interior, style and a wood dashboard for under 9 Thousand pounds? I am led to believe ...

The Older, The Better

Advantages: More spacious
Disadvantages: Bulkier

...Mini, my opinion of the Rover Mini 1.3 is a low one. I have always liked the good old fashioned classic Mini due to is distinct looks and, true to its name, compactness. However, when the new Rover Mini was released i was not impressed with it atall. The car has been modernised for the worse. What was once a compact car, which you could fit in a parking space sideways with plenty of room, is now a huge and femenine car which ruins the good 'Mini' ...
...Rover Mini though. The interior is much roomier with an all modernised dashboard, and other such mechanically enhanced parts you'll find in any modern vehicle. Even though the Rover Mini 1.3 is a much safer and more family-friendly vehicle than the original Mini, it simply didnt tickle my fancy like the classic does. If you are looking for a new, reliable family car i suggest another car, but if you're looking for a lovely Mini, i suggest the classic! ...

Mini Cooper 1.3 1996

Advantages: Fun and cute. Easy to drive and brings a smile to everyone
Disadvantages: Difficult to work on and cramped inside

My Rover N reg (96) 1.3 Mini Cooper is a dream - both good and a nightmare! She's a real head turner and never fails to get smiles from all that see her. However, like all Minis' she's cured with rust problems. Watch for rust along all the outer edges, windscreens and wheelarches. Especially look under the car and rust is extremely common there. The A series engine is uncomplicated and reliable, but most mechanics will curse working on it because ...

I still wouldn't part with her after 4 and a half years! ...
