    Ruddles have been brewing classic,typically British ales since 1858 and for a long period their beers were produced in Rutland-England's smallest county. Now owned by Greene King, Ruddles premium County Ale,is produced by a brewery at Abingdon in Oxfordshire. Lets begin with a bit of history.     Ruddles County has always been my favourite bitter. Its a mid brown, full bodied strong bitter at 4.9% ABV brewed at the famous Ruddles brewery in Oakham, Rutland. The flavour is really satisfying and lingers in the mouth for a long time, this is a beer to be savoured and enjoyed, a real classic. You can really taste the hops and it is ideal with a ploughmans. I am not sure whether you can still buy it in 4 pint plastic bottles but it is widely available in cans (dark green in colour) and if you are lucky you may be able to find one of the cans that has an extra 13% free.
