Rugby Challenge 2006 (Xbox)

As i am an avid rugby fan i purchased this game with high hopes, only some of which have been met. I have played most rugby games that have been out over the past few years and this is best but still doesn't full meet my expectations. The game has all the key tournaments and players in and also has several mini games and a career mode similar to current football games. For the tournaments you can jump straight into the action as your team of choice. ...

...and complete. I am a rugby player myself and by playing the game from a commentators view, i picked up on rules i never knew before which improves my game. My friend who has never played rugby before also found this and he now understands the game just as well as me! The size and placement of the lines on the pitch is also very accurate and it gives you a sense of how big the pitch is. Although this game does teach you a lot about rugby, the graphics ...
...that the some of the tackles you put in usually miss, even when you are standing right next to the ball carrier. But computer players can somehow tacle from a good few metres away! The whole kicking concept is also very complicated and all you can really do is pass the ball down the line.
