My biggest hobby and passion in life is baking. I love to bake - be it cakes or brownies or cookies or whatever else springs into my mind. I was lucky enough to receive a Kenwood mixer from my Mum a few years ago for Christmas. This mixer comes with all sorts of other kitchen appliances that attach to it.- juicer, blender, blitzer. It's something of a beast! At times, it is somewhat impractical to drag this big silver machine out to whip up a recipe that only requires minimal effort. This is why I decided to purchase an electric hand whisk. During a trip to my local Asda, I found this "Russell ... more

    Advantages Advantages lots of power

Disadvantages Disadvantages no slow speed, tips forward, beater release button under thumb

From my previous reviews, you might have realized I like to bake. I have quite a sweet tooth and need very little excuse to whip up a batch of cookies, brownies, or a cake. Saturday and Sunday mornings frequently see homemade pancakes or muffins in the oven. Most weekdays I start my morning with a slice of gluten free banana bread. In other words, a good quality electric mixer is an essential kitchen appliance in my house. I would love to have a stand mixer, but sadly the budget doesn’t allow for such extravagances. Instead I opted for the Russell Hobbs 4451 Hand Mixer. It was just £12.99 and ... more

Advantages Advantages Appears to be good quality!

Disadvantages Disadvantages I can't think of any yet...so far so good!

Russell Hobbs Food Collection Hand mixer: I brought this Russell Hobbs hand mixer after the whisks attachments broke from my ASDA smart price one, which was £5.00 and lasted about a year. However, this time I thought I would invest a bit more money into a new hand mixer in the hope that it will last longer. I am pretty sure that I paid around £10.00 for my hand mixer. I can't remember because it was about 6 months ago and I brought it online. I think this is good value for money, because it is defiantly a lot sturdier than the ASDA smart price one that I only paid £5.00 for, therefore I think ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, compact, very fast

Disadvantages Disadvantages No slow speed setting, no dough hooks

I have recently discovered my love for baking so when I received this mixer as a gift for Christmas I was actually thrilled. I know it might not be everyone's idea of a great present but it sure was mine! Mostly I enjoy making cakes, brownies and the odd cream cake so I knew that an electric mixer would take some of the strain off my poor arm. -------In the Box------- The box contained the mixer itself, plus the two mixing blades which slot into the machine. The box also contained instructions. It should be noted that this mixer only comes with one set of blades and does not contain the dough ... more
