Ryvita Crackerbread This was one product that I hadn't really tried out of the Ryvita range but seeing as I am trying to be especially good to loose a few pounds for the summer I thought I would pick this up on a recent shopping trip at Morrison's. Advantages Advantages : Great light taste, good price, low in calories (19 per slice).

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little unfilling in smaller quantities.

Crackerbread are made by Ryvita and available in most supermarkets. I paid 85p for 200g from my local Tesco and this gives around 25-30 crackers which are 19 calories each and contain just 0.1g sugar and 0.2g fat. The crackers are light & crispy as they are made from wheat flour and they are the perfect alternative to bread for those who are trying to watch their calorie intake. Admittedly two crackers together aren't as filling as a sandwich but they still have this lovely light taste to them that make them just delicious when covered with a thin spread of butter and peanut butter. Make sure ... more

Advantages Advantages crisp, light, versatile, good value for money

Disadvantages Disadvantages go stale very quickly if left out

Ryvita's crackerbread costs around a pound per box, at which price you get thirty or so decent-sized wheat crackers, which represent a lighter and healthier alternative to both bread and other crackers which in many cases contain lots of salt and are not particularly good for you. I have known people to eat crackerbread on its own, but its far, far too dry for me to ever conceive of such a thing, and the taste/healthiness of a crackerbread snack depends entirely on what toppings you choose to employ. The crackers are appealingly crispy and crunchy, and are perfectly nice with just a thin layer ... more
