    Advantages Advantages Cracking value. Not animal tested. Great performance. A little goes a long way.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Own brand, therefore accessibility may be awkward for some.

    I do my main weekly shop at Tescos and have done for over a year now. I have for the most part always used their 'Value' range washing up liquid at the amazing price of just 13p per litre! I've had no gripes at all concerning it's quality or performance, so it was purely by default that I became the recipient of a bottle of a Sainsbury's equivalent, but how?     Review of Sainsbury's Basics Washing up liquid. The Product As most people will know, the Basics range is Sainsbury's own label products aimed at the budget end of the market. These goods are simply packaged and presented and are designed to offer no frills, value for money. Some of the these products are very good, other are not! Had I been writing this review two or three years ago, this washing up liquid would have received a definite 'thumbs up' from me, sadly not so now!     This washing up liquid is one that I first bought a while ago when one my cats needed treatment and my vets bills were so high and because it was so cheap and I was trying to save money, I stocked my cupboards once I tried it because I found I really liked it for the cheap price. I like the Basics range from Sainsbury’s because I think they are a decent, cheap range of lower priced products and so when I first tried this one, I was not sure if I would like it but was kind of forced to buy it at the time to save money.     When it comes to washing up liquid, I tend to just purchase the cheapest going as I have a dishwasher and don’t tend to wash up very often, and only wash up when I only have a few items that need washing and therefore a bottle of washing up liquid lasts me quite a while so I only buy cheap. The last bottle of washing up liquid I purchased was Sainsbury’s Basics Washing Up Liquid as the price was attractive to me.     Advantages Advantages Excellent value for money, comes in old fashioned rocket bottle

    My boyfriend and I are both children of the 80's, and as children one of the highlights of our day was coming home and watching Blue Peter. I remember as a child begging my mum to finish the washing up liquid so I could steal the bottle to make something . My boyfriends mother fondly tells the tale of a Tracey Island that my boyfriends made as a child - and kept so long it actually went mouldy and had to be thrown out.     Advantages Advantages Easy to use, works quite well, very cheap, good strong packaging.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't work as well as more expensive brands.

    I am always on the look out for a bargain and will give something a try if it might save me a few pennies in the long run and this product was no exception. This is a clear plastic bottle with an orange flip top lid that is very easy to use even with wet hands. Just flip the lid and pour some of this on your dishes or under running water. I usually put some of mine under hot water and then a generous squirt on a sponge to help me produce lots of bubbles to make sure the dishes are scrubbed clean.     Recently I have been trying to make a few cut backs and one thing I do get through a lot of and buy weekly is washing up liquid. Sainsbury's is a store I don't frequent very often but my friend does like so the other day whilst we were out and about we nipped in so she could grab a few essentials and whilst she was doing so I decided to have a mooch about and see what bargains I could grab. This one of a few 'Basic' products that I decided to try as it only cost me 40p for a large enough 500ml of it which I thought had to be worth a go.
