Advantages Advantages taste is high, price is low

    Disadvantages Disadvantages all that sugar!

Fizzy drinks? I love 'em! The thing is, I drink a lot of Coca-Cola, and the price, while seeming low at the time, contributes to the gradual decrease in my bank balance. I've tried other own-brand colas before but they're nothing like the real thing - too artificial-tasting, too sweet, not fizzy enough, too fizzy...the list goes on. But then I spotted Sainsburys Classic Cola, and have been hooked on it ever since. Classic Cola is available from Sainsburys in the following sizes, for the following prices: - 2 litre bottle, 89p - 500ml bottle, 49p - 6 x 330ml cans, £1.59 - 24 x 330ml cans, £2.99 ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great tasting, reasonable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Ask the dentists :)

Until this past christmas, I must admit that I was not a big fan of cola drinks. I would drink Coca-Cola on occasions but I found the price a bit too steep to purchase on a regular basis. However, I tried Sainsbury's Classic Cola and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. Coming in a similarly styled can as Coca-Cola, in fact they were forced to change the original design of the can as it was ruled too similar to the Coca-Cola brand, the taste of this product is actually quite nice. Unlike many of the other brands of cola such as Pepsi, Marks and Spencers cola and others, Classic Cola ... more

Advantages Advantages Good Value For Money

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only Available From Sainsbury's

To buy brand names or to opt for cheaper supermarket own brands is a dilemma that consumers have pondered over for ever. At one end of the spectrum there are people like my Mother who would never dream of buying anything that wasn't branded and at the opposite extreme there are those that will opt for the cheaper alternatives every time. Personally I sit somewhere in the middle of the fence on the matter, I am not a snob but I do like quality products, however I also like to get value for my money and I know that some own brand products can be just as good as or occasionally even better than ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good taste, cheap.

Disadvantages Disadvantages available only in their shops.

If I am wrong with the first part of this review then please accept my apologies. Anyway on with the review. When Sainsbury's changed their own brand cola to the now familiar classic variety. It had a major overhaul of its design, into what we see gracing the soft drink shelves of Sainsbury's today. At least one of the major "Cola" companies became quite upset and took legal advise with regards to copyright infringement, this has become quite fuzzy in my mind as time has passed. I seem to remember that the first design was deemed to be an infringement and the result is a second design change ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap but with a fantastic flavour

Disadvantages Disadvantages I cant think of any

I started buying Sainsbury's Classic Cola when we were skint as it was nice and cheap and it was so good we now drink it all the time. At a cost of 79p per 2 litre bottle or £2.69 for 4 x 2ltr bottles it is excellent value for money. It has a fantastic taste which me and my husband prefer to Pepsi or Coke so the fact it is such a low price is a bonus. The nutritional value is as follows (per 250ml serving): - Energy 459kj 108kcal Protein less than 0.1g Carbohydrate 27.0g of which sugars 27.0g Fat less than 0.1g of which saturates 0.0g of which mono-unsaturates less than 0.1g Fibre 0.0g Salt 0 ... more

I'm sitting here with a glass of classic cola from sainsbury's. It tastes fantastic. Iv'e always loved fizzy drinks but this is one of the best. After every sentence I take a sip, I can't help it. Addicted is the word for it. **Price** 4 pack of 2litre bottles -£2.49 2 litre bottle - £0.89 1 litre bottle - £0.60 500 ml bottle - £0.50 330ml can - £0.40 (Approximately) **Types** There are many variations of this drink but the most popular are normal classic cola and diet classic cola. The classic cola has about 144 calories per 330ml and I am not sure about the diet. **Packaging** They all have ... more

Advantages Advantages great taste great price

    Disadvantages Disadvantages rots teeth

I used to be a Coke (that's Coca-cola) addict. Neither Pepsi nor generic own label colas quite matched the taste. Then years ago During a post Christmas poor season I bought Sainsbury's classic cola. So how does it compare?? It doesn't. Sainsbury's Classic cola is distinct from both Pepsi and Coke ;and it is far superior to the colas that I have had to suffer when going to see my parent in the past. It still has that Caffeine kick (unless you drink as much of it as me) and the tingling of the bubbles as it hits your tongue. SO which do I prefer - I will drink what ever is the cheapest or has ... more
