    Yes, fellow wine connoisseurs, I have been shopping at Sainsburys again – I am usually faithful to Tesco but I happened to be near this supermarket and picked up a couple of bottles – purely for research purposes of course! So what’s on the menu this time? Sainsburys South African Medium White Wine, that’s what. Uh huh, another white with sweet leanings – you know me by now! For some strange reason this one has a simple sketch of a hippo on the label – don’t know why but it’s different!     Advantages Advantages At £2.99 a bargain.

    *** INTRO *** South African wines are taking off in this country and some labour MP's are supporting trade in this area. I bought mine in a central London Sainsbury's supermarket for £2.99 chilled. The price appealed and I had not tried a white wine recently. *** THE PRODUCT *** The wine came in a green 75cl bottle alcohol 11.5% proof by volume. This was displayed on a simple cream label with the Sainsbury's logo.
