Advantages Advantages Nice for cleaning around the home.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

I first bought these cloths some time ago when my cat was ill and I was trying to save some money on my shopping bill and I came across these cloths at the time and bought them because they were affordable and also because they looked quite nice in the packet and also the amount inside them too. I thought for the price I would give them a go and I am very pleased I did. They come in a plastic transparent wrapper with the usual orange and white colours of the Basics range from Sainsbury’s cheaper products. The cloths inside are a light blue colour with a white diamond shaped design, which looks ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap!!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages -

I don't tend to shop in Sainsburys a lot as it is not convenient for me to get to and also I find them a bit pricier than other supermarkets. However, the odd time I do pop in if I am nearby and need something quick. While in there the other day I came across the basics range which is their equivalent to what Asda have for Smart Price and Tesco with their Value range. I wasn't aware of the Basics range until recently but being quite cheap means savings on certain things. Now for something like these cleaning cloths you don't really want to be paying for a brand and so I grabbed these at the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap, clean well

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing major

A product which I always like to have in the house is cleaning clothes. As part of their Basics range, Sainsbury's All Purpose Cloths were my choice of purchase. Price Only available at Sainsbury’s, these All Purpose Cloths will set you back 36p. For this price though, you will get 10 clothes which makes them only 3.6p each. I really don’t see the point in buying a more expensive version of these kinds of products as they generally aren’t much better and I throw them away quite often if I’m cleaning something gross or dusty. Packaging As with all of the Sainsbury’s Basic range products, these ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap, can be cut in half to make more cloths, washable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Do become tatty relatively quickly

I've never seen the point in spending a fortune on cleaning cloths - after all, you're going to use them to shift muck and mess, they're going to get filthy, and then they're going to be either stained with much or spotted with bleach fades. Cheap and cheerful is the sensible way to go - and at just 40p for ten (4p each) these certainly fit into the cheap category - but will they make me cheerful too ? These cloths are those kind of easily tearable thin cloth - they're not designed to last long really, but to be cheap and convenient to use . They are quite large when folded out, and I actually ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, reasonably durable, handy, absorbent

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

When it comes to basic household/cleaning bits and bobs, I'm not at all brand loyal or fussy. I usually buy whatever's the cheapest or on offer and I've recently been buying supermarket own brand cleaning products as let's face it there's much more exciting things to be spending money on! I shop in a few different supermarkets including Sainsbury's and I came across their basic all purpose cloths quite recently while having a bit of a browse. These retail at just 36 pence per pack of ten cloths (3.6p per cloth) which is brilliant value and one of the cheapest brands available, although various ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap and work well

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not totally reusable

Sainsburys make a great cheap and fully disposable pack of cloths. You can get them for 31p for ten cloths which are blue and white in colour with a diamond design. They can be used equally well for either wet or dry cleaning. We use them in the kitchen and bathroom and have also used them for dry polishing surfaces in bedrooms and living room. They can be re-used as the cellophane pack says but we have found these need to be thrown out after more than two uses as the 100% viscous fibre just disintegrates a bit and makes the cloth a mess. They are strong despite beign quite thin and are soft ... more
