As a whisky drinker on occasion, some of the older folks I know recommended I try some ginger wine with it. The 'whisky mac' is something to be experienced. Ginger wine is the same colour of whisky and smells just as bad if not worse. Imagine fermented raisins and you have the smell of this stuff. I figured that it must taste better than it smells so I poured a little and sure enough it was dreadful, it tasted like it smelt but burned slightly.
