Oven delivery

Advantages: Clear communication throughout the process, fantastic service in my opinion
Disadvantages: Would have been helpful to know no electricity cable was supplied with new oven.

I ordered an oven on the telephone to be delivered asap - which happened to be the folloiwing Sat, was told they would call to give me a 4 hour time slot for delivery by phone on the Friday. Automated phone call recieved giving me 7 - 11am timeslot. Excellent. Saturday morning, said oven arrived the guys removed the packaging we inspected the oven and signed off the paperwork. We noticed there was no electricity cable from the oven, the guys waited ...

do not use

Advantages: the website and the make-belief that you will be getting yourself a bargain
Disadvantages: Bad customer service - unable to deliver the correct item or to deliver at all

...it back and spoke to Sainsburys who couldn't re-book the delivery until Friday 14th August!!! Taken that I had requested express delivery I wasn't too happy but had no other choice so I agreed, and while on the phone to them, I also said that I hadn't received my email confirmation for my order, for which they apologised and said they would re-send. They couldn't give me vouchers for the hassle of the incorrect delivery and could only refund me the ...
...email confirmation of my order on the Wednesday, 4 days after placing my order. On the Friday I took time off work. Luckily the time slot was slightly nicer, 7 am to 11 am so I was able to negociate with my Manager to arrive late and make up the time. The driver rang me at 7.45 to say that they'd be there for 8.15, which would only mean me being late to work instead of having to take time off. When they arrived, the cooker was black!!!!!!!! Extremely ...

Absolutely appalling service - 3 times didn't get product ordered

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Promised a lot delivered nothing.

Ordered a fridge freezer on 3rd April - 3 weeks before required on 24th April. Item in stock - nothing to say it wasn't. 4 days before delivery they phoned to say that models discontinued (even though it wasn't when I ordered - obviously they don't allocate stock when orders are placed) - I was offered a replacement and after checking I said the replacement would be adequate - they promised to deliver on the original day of 24th. 24th comes and goes ...
...all they told me is that they would need to do a 24 hour investigation! Surely a phone call could have been made in 5 minutes? Don't hear anything over weekend - on 27th I phoned them - they then promised to deliver the replacement product on 29th. On 28th get a call from them to say the replacement has been discontinued. I cancel my order in disgust and was then told I had to wait 7-10 days for my money back. Absolutely disgusting service. They ...

Unreliable delivery

Advantages: Pleasant and helpful staff
Disadvantages: Non-delivery

Sainsbury's Appliances staff are friendly and helpful but if they can't deliver on the day or time they say, they're too unreliable for me. I gave them two chances but afford to waste any more time. I ordered an oven and a hob and was promised next day delivery before 2pm. They then rang to say the hob would be delayed until the following week. On the day the oven was promised, nobody came until 2 hours after the latest specified time. They re-scheduled ...
...The driver told me I would have to ring Sainsbury's to sort the problem. I resent having to take the time to sort out supplier's problems. On ringing, they told me that the hob had been misplaced and they couldn't specify a delivery time. Sadly, I had to cancel the order as I can't spend all day waiting in for deliveries that might not arrive. ...

Terrible

Advantages: None I can think off
Disadvantages: Terrible customers service

I ordered a washer dryer from Sainsbury's in October 2008. It arrived damaged. The sub contracted delivery company provided inaccurate information about returning and use of the washer dryer. Sainsbury's help line wasn't helpful. They said they would call back when they had looked at my file. They did not. Eventually when I called back they agreed to send me a replacement. The seconds washer dryer arrived with missing parts but I could scavenge them ...

Avoid Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Contemptuous attitude toward the customer and consumer protection laws

...delivery of the machine yet Sainsburys will not replace it without first sending out an engineer (the earliest time the engineer will get to us is a full seven days after we reported the fault) who then will submit a report to them (Sainsburys), who will then contact Zanussi. It could easily be 3 weeks or more before we have a working machine. Surely, if a machine is reported as faulty within 24 hours of delivery, it should simply be replaced. Yes. ...
...to the law here. Once we had spent 3 'phonecalls trying to get them to simply replace the machine and had them simply refusing to act in accordance with the duties as laid out in the law (Sale of Goods Act 1979) we decided to invoke the cooling off period regs which online purchases are subject: the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 and the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) (Amendment) Regulations 2005. They then simply ...

Quick review of Sainsburys Kitchen Appliances

Good: Excellent communication in the run up to delivery. Bad: Poor after sales support. Connection service waste of time and money. Excellent range of products and not bad prices + nectar points!!!! Fantastic delivery communication in the run up to delivery. Washing machine installation service was a waste of time as the cold water connection pipe was too short. Had to go and buy my own from B&Q and do my proper installation later. Why don't the delivery team carry a selection of such spares???? Refused to send me a set of transit bolts after the delivery team had taken them away - even though they should leave such hardware. Go elsewhere - try Co-op! ...

Do not buy from this company

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Poor service>

Sainsbury Kitchen Appliances (DRL Ltd of Bolton) accepted my order, charged my credit card and then told me they could not supply the cooker when they said they would. Despite this being contrary to their own terms and conditions, as these state they will not take payment until you have confirmed you are willing to wait for the product. I cancelled my order and seven days later they had still not refunded the money to my credit card despite repeated ...

Quick review of Sainsburys Kitchen Appliances

Sainsburys - VERY POOR Has anyone else had something delivered by Sainsburys (DRL) only to find it arrives damaged. We ordered a dishwasher from Sainsburys kitchen appliances web site. It arrived today dented. It was also wet inside - is this normal for new dishwashers? I understand that the delivery men dropped it on the van tailgate. I phoned customer services as soon as I saw the damage but so far they have not been as helpful as they could be in sorting it out. Very poor is how I would rate the service from Sainsburys. ...

ordering and payment are easy, but the cooker I bought was out of stock, I was not informed of this until after I had arranged for removal of my old appliance, had to cancel gas fitter twice as the date kept changing, eventually I was told delivery date was 100% certain, had old cooker removed and was informed a few hours later delivery date had changed again, unwilling to wait for another two weeks I cancelled. This is the worst experience I have had buying online, item still on web site as available, hope refund arrives quicker than cooker, I will never use this site again, do so at your own risk ...

Sainsbury's kitchen appliances

Advantages: Quick delivery, accurate delivery slot
Disadvantages: Very poor after sales care

Arranging delivery over the phone was easy to do, even though Sainsbury's tried to sell me their extended warranty which over 5 years would have cost the same as a new machine, and my new washing machine was due to be with me in 2 days time. I received my phone call to confirm my 4 hour delivery slot as promised the evening before, and on the morning received a call to narrow down the time even more. The problem came with the actual delivery. Everything ...
...machine and remove the packaging - fine, great, except the delivery men legged it as soon as I'd signed the paperwork, leaving me to manhandle a hefty great machine to remove the polystyrene from underneath. I'm pregnant and have been told that under no circumstances should I be doing any heavy lifting, and somehow I think that was meant to include 70kg washing machines. I had a mountain of laundry to get through (as you do when your old one breaks ...

Quick review of Sainsburys Kitchen Appliances

Utterly lamentable is all I can say... My dishwasher lay unopened in a spare room while my new kitchen was fitted. On removing all the packaging, I found the front all caved in, the operating buttons damaged beyond repair, and a large dent down the side of the appliance. Sainsburys refused to replace it as one of my builders had signed for it. Apparently, every single one of the five appliances I'd bought through them should have been unpacked - while their driver waited - to check for damage! They offered me 40% of the value back, then charged me £50 for coming to collect it... that's £240 down the drain on an appliance I never used! ...

Great communication, let down by poor installation

Advantages: Comprehensive buying guide - easy to use. Certainty of delivery timeframe
Disadvantages: Installation was not to manufacturers instructions

Sainsburys delivery service did what it said on the tin - we rec'd a call between 5pm & 8pm as promised on the night before delivery with a 4-hour time slot for the following day. On the day, the delivery team called to narrow down the delivery period to 2 hours and they arrived 15 minutes after their earliest estimate, so overall I was very pleased with this aspect of the service. The installation and connection service was not quite so good. While ...
...was happy with this aspect of the service. I would buy from Sainsburys again but would be wary of using the connection/installation service again - I think insufficient care was taken, possibly due to time pressures - the team had another 13 deliveries to do after mine at 11.30am. ...

Sainsburys are rubbish

Advantages: None that I can see
Disadvantages: They lied about stock after and before taking my money

...they took my money. Called Sainsburys to complain and they said it's not even them!! It's a company called DRL in Bolton. I thought I was ordering through Sainsburys and this has put me off them now as you can't expect 'Sainsburys' service. It's not easy being a single Mum and not having a washer so this just makes me so angry. Also they were very arrogant when I asked to speak to a customer service advisor as well. Eventually took me 4 weeks between ...
