HITS THE NAIL ON THE HEAD

Advantages: Quick results, lovely nails, no chipping or breakages
Disadvantages: Initial strong smell

...picked up a bottle of Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails. Having heard a lot of praise about other Sally Hansen products, this was the main reason for choosing this particular product. I had never personally used anything from this range myself, so I was still a bit dubious, but because the product name was Hard as Nails, this was enough to convince me that it might actually work, so in my basket it went. I longed to be able to have a soak in the bath, ...
...one pictured on Ciao. Sally Hansen products must’ve had a face-lift, as the bottle I have on my dressing table is the same as other varnishes in the Sally Hansen range, my daughter says it’s a sort of half moon shape with a slender grey cap if that helps. Although a varnish of sorts, Hard as Nails has a slightly thinner consistency to that of nail varnish, so it is very easy to apply and doesn’t go all gloopy at the end of the brush. It is a dream ...

I'm dead hard now!

Advantages: Hard as nails!
Disadvantages: None

...in Boots, I saw some Sally Hansen Hard as Nails (well, she obviously hasn’t seen mine has she?) and thought I’d give it a go to see if it could improve my digits. The product comes in the usual nail polish look-a-like bottle and is totally clear in appearance. This was good, as I didn’t want a colour which could chip off easily, which is a sure-fire way to get me nibbling again. I love chipping away at the nail polish which inevitably leads to some ...

Soft As S**te!

Advantages: Managed to flog it on eBay for half the price
Disadvantages: Peeled/chipped off within 24 hours. Expensive for something that doesn't work. Boring packaging.

...As Nails (with Nylon)’ by Sally Hansen. I had heard various good things about this brand so made my purchase. For £4.25 I got a 13ml bottle of the product. ~ The bottle ~ There are two versions of Hard As Nails that you can buy, one is clear and one is tinted pink. I bought the pink tinted one as I thought it looked a little prettier, but I have been informed that they are exactly the same in their function. The bottle that I bought was nothing ...
...appealing to the snob in me!). It was just a clear nail varnish bottle with a slightly longer handle for ease of application. I would rather the bottle had been not as tall and had a wider base, because it would be easy to knock over. Apart from that, no complaints. ~ Ease of application ~ No problems here either. After cleaning and buffing the majority of ridges off my nails (couldn’t make it completely smooth because the acrylic nails had made ...

Great all-rounder

Advantages: Helps prevent breakages, makes nails nice and shiny, cheaper than some similar products
Disadvantages: Can get a bit gloopy towards end of bottle

I’ve used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails for about 2 years now. As you may know, I’m a bit of a nail varnish addict, and never have naked nails. I do my nails once a week generally, and I find they break if I don’t wear nail varnish. Hard as Nails is the best all round basecoat/topcoat/strenghener/glosser that I’ve found. And it doesn’t cost the earth, like some products of similar quality do. It comes in a slightly differently shaped bottle to other ...
...lid is quite flat. This doesn’t affect usage in any way. The brush is very good – just the right shape for a neat application. The smell is as you’d expect – normal pungent nail varnish smell. It comes in two colours – completely clear with no tint, and clear with a slightly pink tint. I find both are just as good as the other, but tend to buy the untinted one mostly, as then it doesn’t tint the colour I’m applying it over at all. It generally costs ...

Hard As Nails

Advantages: Strengthens nails over time
Disadvantages: Peels off

...on boots.com and came across Sally Hansen Hard As Nails. I purchased it for 4.25 from Boots. I think the picture above must be an old one as the product is now in a normal looking nail varnish bottle with a long silver handle. (See picture) The varnish looks as though it has a slight pink hint to it, which I think it has. This helps to make the varnish look more natural on your nail. The varnish is very easy to apply and has the same consistency ...
...give your nail two coats, but I think that one coat is plenty. The result is that you have nice shiny, natural looking nails. But does it do as it should? I have been using this product for around two months and I have to say that I have noticed that my nails are a lot stronger. They don't split at the edges as often as they used to. But the only problem that I have is that it peels off very, very easily, and I can never resist peeling off nail ...

Hardest Nails I Ever Had

Advantages: Hardest Nails I Ever Had
Disadvantages: Desired results may take time to achieve. May need to use Sally Hansens Maximum Growth prior to using Sally Hansens Hard as Nails for optimum results.

Sally Hansens Hard As Nails really does work. I USED to have nails that would peel and break and were very weak, now I can prize open just about anything with my new strong nails. At first when I tried Hard as Nails I found it helped my nails a little, but they were still weak. I needed to perservere and this paid off. I found that if I tried Sally Hansens Maximum Growth first to get my nails stronger and longer, (this takes about 10 days to get ...

Does anyone want mine???

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: colour, smell, price and it made my nails look horrible

Sally Hansen “Hard as nails” is a product that supposes to strengthen your nails. My nails occasionally break, so I decided to try it. It can be purchased in Boots and Superdrug. I have so say that I was not impressed with it from the moment I started applying it. It looked a bit strange on the nails, although the sign on the bottle stated “clear”. It also started to chip the next day and my nails felt really dry. I have used products from Sally ...

Fantastic, BUT it doesn't do what it is meant to

Advantages: It makes your nails look really shiny
Disadvantages: It peels really easily

I have really weak nails that are prone to peeling which makes me want to bite them! So, when i saw this product in boots i decided it was worth a try. I hadn't even heard of this range before so i was not really sure what to expect the price was reasonable and the packaging was quite appealing (a clear bottle with a nice long neck/handle to help you apply the polish easily). The brush is long and held in place well as unlike other polishes i've ...
...to apply 2 to 3 coats, i disagree because one coat looks good then after the second and third coat the layers are so thick the polish just peels off taking all the moisture in your nails with it. As the polish peeled off my nails felt and looked terrible and scaly! However saying that one coat made my nails less likely to break and the shine was very attractive. I wouldn't say that the polish made my nails any harder as they still bend a lot but ...

...and break very easily. Sally Hansen has a good reputation for nail care products, so I thought I must try Hard As Nails. Unfortunately this product did very little for me. I maintained a regular routine, two or three times a week I would remove the old polish, tidy up my nails and then reapply new polish. I continued with this routine for about two months and in that time my nails did not improve at all. In fact my nails looked worse because the ...

Hard??? what are they on about!?

Advantages: It's nail varnish
Disadvantages: Doesn't do what it says

I always wear a lot of nail varnish to stop my nails from breaking as easy because I have very soft nails. I don't know why as I drink a lot of milk, but never mind. The point is that I have weak nails so I bought this nail varnish to try and strengthen them as the name implies that it does. I used this for about 1 month and it made no difference to my nails apart from making them a yeppowish colour. If anybody wants some of this, you must be completely ...
