...the only fault with this Samsung DVD recorder but it is very annoying and when I rang up the helpline about it all they said was to make sure the disk was not dusty or scratched and to blow the insides to make sure it was clean. Surprisingly this did not fix the fault.
It is a real shame as apart from this very annoying fault it has so much going for it with some great features and everything you would expect from a top of the line DVD Recorder. ... ...easy to use with very understandable instructions.

Quick review of Samsung DVD SH855M
AVOID THIS PRODUCT. I bought from Dabs.com and have now had two units both of which suffer from freezing recordings, failure for EPG to update, and general freezing of the whole unit. The service from Dabs.com and Samsung has been nothing short of scandalous and Dabs in particular are unconcerned that they have sold goods that are not fit for purpose. ...

Advantages: Cheap, small Disadvantages: Need to eb there to amke sure it records
i am happy to say i no longer use this product.
I got this DVD recorder for only £190 which is a really good deal so i thought. I got it home and attempted to set it up but i just could not get on with it at all. i read and re read the instructions but i still could not do it. I got a freind to set it all up and then gave it a second try. I did manage to record on it twice but both times it recorded the wrong thing at the wrong time and most times ... ...time i could record was if i there to check it and that was pointless. when i did manage to record things the recording would only play some of it and would sometimes freeze or not play at all which again was annoying. i did call the helpline but they are not very helpfull at all ...
