*It has a fan - and you can hear it! If it weren't for this, I would have rated it 5*
* Quality control suspect? My first set had no screw threads in two of the wall bracket holes - the set was replaced. My second set had a fault which meant teletext didn't work, and it always turned on to channel 16. Replaced again. Third time lucky, and the fan was quieter than the other two - but still too loud. (At 10 feet viewing ... ...you're using it to wake you up in the morning you need to check it regularly. It loses the time setting altogether when you switch off the mains.
*If the set is off, when you wipe it round with the duster, it switches on. (I would never have noticed this one! :-)
===Now what you'd expect:===
*The sound is good for a flat panel TV, but that's it. You can't expect HiFi from a plastic case this size. Quality sound is a science of its own, and LF ...

Also the viewing angle on the television is very good as you can watch the tv from nearly 180 degrees. The 1080p screen resolution helps moving objects look smooth. I have owned this TV for just under two weeks, and so far I can not praise it enough.
When watching a wild life program I could truly appreciate the picture quality. It was as though I was seeing the scenery with my own eyes and not through a TV at all. I don't even receive a HD signal so to think that I am not seeing the picture at its full potential is well unbelievable.
The sound quality is Okay all though to be honest I always have the auxiliary ... ...The TV remote is well laid out and easy to use, the only draw back of the remote is that it uses the tiny batteries that most people will not have around the house, so when the batteries do run down it will mean that you can't 'borrow' them from from something else. ...

Lovely set, very very pleased with the purchase. Excellent standard def quality, bright crisp clear image and unbelievable when hooked up to my my panasonic blu ray on 1080p.
Sound quality is also good, and actually the rose black red colour quite muted and elegent

Im my opinion this TV is worth the money. Myself I have the 40' and the 50' that have never let me down. The swivel feature is nice, I don't know about you but the NBA play-offs have been a whole different experence whith these TV's. I would denifitely recomend this TV to anyone. my friend has one and i have went round his and its amazing quaitly and is even better with surround sound with HD (amazing) the porfamace is good i would buy one. This might not be a review made by a professional technician, but I will actually be able to tell you first hand what the productīs about. My boyfriendīs uncle is very wealthy and bought this new LCD, and I have to say, it is amazing. Although I still donīt find the use in such wide screen TVs, the sound and picture queality are the best that i have seen in my life. A funny anecdote: the first time i turned it on, there was a program about pools ... ...TV! I personally am a fan of books, but this TV makes the experience of watching so enjoyable, that you forget about the fact that watching TV is a totally worthless action (to me, I donīt want anyone to get offended) ... LCD Manufacturers, Samsung among them, have been trotting out a stream of flat panel TV's over the past year or so with very impressive spec sheets which have struggled to produce the performance to match their on-board electronic wizardry. The LE40A656 is different in that it gives us a taste of a new generation of LCD TV's that actually begin to fulfil the potential of their high tech components.
100Hz processing, so long the object ... ...flat panel TV's manage to score highly in this respect.
Conclusion
With a cutting edge design a highly impressive spec sheet and performance that lives up to the billing Samsung have produced a highly desirable LCD TV that will be a joy to look at and to watch. ...
