Advantages: Fast printing and easy set-up. Disadvantages: Quality suffers when large quantity is printed at once.
I bought this printer mainly because of it's low cost but also because I liked very much it's predecessor, the ML-1510, which my girlfriend owns. It's cheap and very easy to set up.
If anyone owns a ML-1510 and thinking of upgrading to the ML-1520, I don't think there's much point. They are pretty much identical in terms of its functionality, but the ML-1520 is more square-ish and is the standard grey colour (more 'manly' if you like). Personally ... ...is slightly smaller and lighter.
The pros. The quality of print (especially if printing text only) is superb, even on the starter toner that's supplied with the printer. I have not printed any photos so I can't really comment on that but I have tried printing road maps from the internet. Again the quality is great and I can clearly nake out the individual roads and road names. What I like about this printer is the different ways you can feed in ...

Advantages: Low cost laser printer, fast and quiet printing Disadvantages: low resolution, expensive replacement toner
BUYING THE PRINTER
We had an old Canon inkjet and every time the cartridges emptied, the printing head went bust as well! We got fed up buying it every single time as it is expensive.
It was more of a wishful thinking that we can afford one - but I checked online for laser printers as well and found this one that retailed for £49.00. After checking around different computer magazines the reviews were not bad at all, so we headed to the nearest ... ...went up to £75-00! At the end I found it online for 49-00 and got it delivered next day (good old Viking Direct!)
CONNECTING
Printer is easy to connect, drivers also easy to install. No USB cable was supplied though, but you can find them cheap at Tesco (PC World is more expensive for this). Toner just slid in no bother! The printer is quite small, it fits easily on the top of the desk.
The only annoying thing is that on/off switch, which is placed ...

Advantages: Neat size, Economy, Speed, quailty of print, Price. Disadvantages: when it finally comes to time to buy a new toner it can be expensive
I had two inkjets that I didn't use that much, simply because each time I wanted a page it required several cleaning cycles before I could get a decent print. The answer? a Cheap laser printer. the good news is that they are now as affordable as inkjets. Although the cartridges are expensive to replace the cost per print is a fraction of using an inkjet printer, a lot quicker and far less noisy.
Although the resolution is low on this model I would ... ...a high end laser and tell me which was which. I work from home as a field engineer, I check my Email in the morning, print off the jobs and, for areas that I don't know, a page or two from Streetmap, then set off to work. The size of the unit was important to me, my home office is a little 'compact' . it is approximately 14"x14" so there are no problems there. Website support is excellent. As always, I didn't bother with the installation CD that ...

I got My Printer for £49.99 and i have got no regrets atall about buying it.
FIRST IMPRESSION
When I sw this Printer at first, I didnt think much about it, due to the price being so low. However after a brief period of reading the Box, i thought, 'Seems like a good runner.I was right,.
INSTALLATION
Inserting the toner was the first task, which was so easy, just slipped right in. Loaded the Paper tray, which again was just so simple - as the Tray ... ...as with all printers), and connecting the unit up to the Mains Supply, all there was to do was the drivers. Inserted the Driver Disk and Set-Up was so easy, after few clicks, the drivers were installed and i was ready to go. Turned the Printer on as i was able to start Printing.
When the Toner is empty, which i have experienced since early since i brought it early February.
PERFORMANCE / QUALITY
I sent my first print job to the Printer, hey presto! ...

...printing. I already own a Samsung laptop which has performed faultlessly for 5 years so I expect the same from this machine.
I can 't find this printer listed on the Samsung UK site but they have the drivers for a variety of OS and a copy of the included manual. I have yet to contact the manufacturer for help but I would like to see the specs etc online.
The box says USB1 but it works on USB2 - USB1 is fast enought for printers anyway.
If you ...

...was pleased to see the Samsung ML 1520 for £80. I realise that the resolution is low but for simply printing text it is fine. Luckily the printer came with a "starter toner" which is slightly filled to start me off, as the toner costs almost as much as the printer. It is also unfortunate that printer manufacturers no longer include USB cables in the set as this can cost you nearly £10 on top.
On the plus size, it is small, compact and fast.
Overall, ...
