Advantages: Good results, plenty of features for most users. Generally works well. Disadvantages: Hard to take full advantage of the camera because of the menu system which I found hard to use.
I bought this camera for my girlfriend who thinks user manuals are only to be used to keep the door open - so it needs to be easy to use. The key feature for me was the HD video recording which seems to work fairly well. For most people however this feature is not going to be enough to provoke a purchase. Like a lot of cameras this one can put put into 'auto' and left to sort itself out when taking a picture. I've found that this is not necessarily ... ...mode in particular has been well worth checking out, I don't know how it works but it does make taking pictures of over excited children much more successful. The portrait mode with face detection has proved to be excellent too. I'm sure there's even more to this camera - and the manual is easy to understand - but how do you get someone to change the habits of a lifetime and actually read the book!!!?
