I purchased a Samsung NV8 a few weeks ago for taking snaps on a skiing holiday. I was lucky enough to pick it up for £79 at John Lewis because it had been out of the box as a demonstration item.
The camera comes boxed with rechargeable battery, USB cable, mains charger, software CD, AV cable, wrist strap and manuals. The USB cable plugs into the mains plug to act as a standalone charger - this is a great plus in my opinion as more and more different ... ...have to pack one 3-pin plug part when going away, and all my USB-charging devices can use it. The cable itself is simple and functional, with an LED light in the end which connects to the camera to show (through its colour) the charging status.

Advantages: Overall good camera.. Disadvantages: Is not compatible with computers..

A minor complaint is the lack of a viewfinder. The central and deal-breaking problem however is the software. Unlike older Samsung cameras where one's computer automatically recognised the camera when you just plugged in the USB cable, the NV8 has some very serious driver/software issues, which ... ...range and the drivers which Samsung has you install. The instruction booklet in 2 simple steps directs you to install the software provided and connect the camera to download pictures. Upon having the camera connect (from the camera menu) to the computer a small window appears asking what program you would like to use to open the contents of the camera's storage. ...too sure about buying a samsung camera, but this put my worries to rest. I had always brought samsung phones as i love their design and performance, especially the touchscreen models, but cameras were an unknown quality for me.

Advantages: sleek and easy to use shake reduction and good quality photos Disadvantages: videos are AVI which is hard to edit
...I'm very satisfied indeed ..The Samsung NV8 camera features the sleek, elegant design and innovative Smart Touch interface .For high image quality i found that its hard to edit the videos on the computer thought because it records as an AVI.
i think this camera is fantastic it has face recognision upto 9 faces not that ive had a photo of 9 faces yet , but ive had it working for 5 people so it does work. i found its quite hard to take a steady photo ... ...on shake reduction and can be a bit of a shakey image, i found a way to solve it , to set it to "scene" choose "children" and then select shake reduction , often has no flash when i do that , but its alot better.
does great close up's and is 8 mp which is fab, large photos though once uploaded to computer so often have to resize for the web
overall great camera ...

(+) Ultra-compact dimensions, fun automatic tools, good performance for the asking price (-) Cluttered menu layout, camera buttons are scarce, specs are almost identical to the Samsung ES15
