Advantages Advantages Benefits of an SLR combined with the extras of a compact digital

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No tremor/shake compensator

I've had my Samsung Pro815 for about 6 months now, and have to say it was well worth the expense. As with most (probably), I had a compact camera but just wanted that "something" extra when taking photos and with the Pro815, I certainly have that! The Pro815, combines all the benefits I believe of a stand alone digital SLR with the extras of a digital compact camera i.e. taking short videos. The camera itself has a good feel and weight to it. I find it OK, but my partner who has used it a couple of times, did comment that it was a "little heavy". I think in part that when compared to a ... more

Advantages Advantages great zoom, large screen, plenty of options, long battery life

    Disadvantages Disadvantages no image stabilisation

I have owned one of these camera for a while now and its excellent with a large screen and fantastic battery usage (over 400 photos on one charge), which was the best on the market when it was released, the only disadvantage i can see is the lack of image stabilisation but its a minor flaw in an otherwise excellent camera. It can be a little weighty but takes excellent photos and has a large clear screen which has also been used by my relatives with not so great eye sight without any problems The camera has a fantastic zoom for the price which would only be improved by the image stabilisation ... more

Advantages Advantages Full of features, easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages High on battery power, and a little weighty without a tripod.

This is a mid range camera, and is worth every, pound I paid for it. The quality is excellent and the Samsung Pro815 has a good bit of weight behind it, so there is why you could hold the camera for too long without a tripod. One thing I did find though is that you would need, a spare battery or batteries, as it uses alot of engery, provided you are just using the view finder and not the LCD screen you will have no trouble with the superb camera. For the beginner to digital photography this is an ideal camera to start with. It is full of features that make most cameras in their field seem not ... more

Advantages Advantages good value and takes proffesional shots, easy to use, good battery life

Disadvantages Disadvantages bulky, inadiquate memory card

brought this camera about a year ago, it has proved reliable, good value and versatile. It is very easy to get started with, can easily perform great shots with beginner experience. By consulting the manual you can easily exploit all of the camera's features. Because of its big lens and 8 mega pixels it can take high quality photos and it is very user friendly. The camera has many features and effects to adjust how you want a shot to look and a big 3.5 LCD screen. Also has the ability to capture high quality video and the battery life is also very good. The only downside it is very bulky and ... more

    Advantages Advantages easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages slow to focus

I have used this camera in many different situations from family portraits to photographing wildlife, and this camera has done me proud, giving brilliantly clear high definition photographs. This camera has an auto focus facility which can be easily used by beginners who don't feel confident in photography and the manual focus, this is how I started with this camera but with a little practice I can now use the manual focus to its full extent. The infra red remote control is useful for many aspects of photography, such as wild animal photography where I live is difficult and you have to wait ... more

Advantages Advantages There are so many! But i would have to say the 15x optical zoom, which is so pure, and the size of the rear LCD screen which is so sharp it almost looks HD!

Disadvantages Disadvantages No image stabalisation, which is disapointing for such a good all round camera.

With the rise of many new "bridge" (half compact, half DSLR) cameras samsung decided to get into it. There first attempt has blown away all competition with the Samsung Pro 815. I brought this camera in December 06 and still cant beleive the quality of the camera even though i use it almost every day. The list of features runs on forever but the plus sides have to be the zoom and the muliple LCD screens. Samsung have thought of everythin with this camera. If your lookin to progress with your photography skills like i have then this is the camera for you. You dont need to worry bout changing or ... more
