Since we are eating fish and korean specialities (like kimchi, etc.) regularly our old fridge had to suffer. Or the other foods which were located inside. So we were forced to eat the bought foods on the same day, or we had to use special, air-tight boxes which we could only buy in Korea, so the smells could not be transfused to milk and Co.

It has two doors. The fridge-part and the freezer-part are separated through one door each. The fridge-side is located right and the freezer-side can be found on the left side.

Advantages: Great build quality, HUGE fridge capacity, wonderful ice and filtered water 'on tap' (excuse the pun) Disadvantages: Expensive replacement water filters, ice can shoot out at all angles, limited freezer capacity for big families
I find myself in the unusual position of reviewing a product that I didn't actually go out and buy, because I didn't want one. I actually won this fridge freezer in an instant win scratchcard competition at Blockbuster Video last year. Yes, I know I'm a lucky sod and you're all jealous... *wide grin*.
Having now had the product installed in my kitchen for a year, I feel that I've gained enough experience to give you a good insight into this awesome ... ...BIG in way that only Rik Waller's suit fully understands. Measuring 91cm (36 inches) wide, 66cm (26 inches) deep, and 176cm (69 inches) tall, it could easily house a couple of dismembered bodies. It's advisable to measure your door frames before ordering this fridge, because - wait for it - it's made even bigger by the fact it comes in an oversized box, and is enveloped by huge slabs of moulded polystyrene (a flagrant example of unnecessary packaging ...

Well yes they do, and I have a couple of televisions in this house made by Samsung, and I must admit I'd never thought that they also produce household appliances. Personally, I've found all the products from Samsung to be of high quality and very reliable, and that includes this fridge.

But the helpful deliverymen, removed the doors and just about managed to squeeze it through. Once they'd positioned it in the kitchen they re-attached the doors and connected all the electrics. Advantages: huge fridge, water & ice maker Disadvantages: freezer smaller than it should be.

The unit was probably the cheapest of its kind that i had found whilst searching. i, personally used a price comparison site and fount one for about £650 including delivery, then thought i would try a bidding site, for which i saw it for £550 with free delivery if you live within 25miles (which unfortunately i did ... ...of it is great.
one of the set backs possibly is that the freezer space is taken up quite a bit by the ice machine - about a third. this makes the fridge : freezer quite large, but there is still plenty of room in there for my freezer stuff as we buy in a lot of fresh stuff anyway. To combat this, the fridge also has a twin cooling system by which you can keep fresh stuff in the bottom of your fridge, and it keeps them crisper and fresher for longer. ...

Advantages: Very capable, looks awesome, efficient and quiet. Disadvantages: Difficult to keep clean, freezer compartment smaller than expected
...to source one direct from Samsung within my specified timescale, and their courier were then able to deliver it on my chosen day. I do advise though that if you want it delivered on a specific day, you order a month or so before you need it, then follow up the order with the supplier directly.
Couple of other things to watch out for...
- The model number: The basic fridge unit is the "RS21". The J adds water/ice dispenser, and the L adds the CoolSelect ... ...Black Glass. Check your model number carefully. There is a wide variety of models out there, and they all look subtley different, so make sure you get all the letters and numbers in the right order to get your chosen model. Many web suppliers will show images of different colours and layouts to the one you want, so take care!
- This fridge is the twin-cooler model. It means that the fridge and freezer use different cooling circuitry, which increases ...

...a replacemnt product for a samsung fridge freezer that was awaiting delivery. I was quite happy to take delivery as this was meant to be the new improved model.Apparently there was very little difference between the two. As long as it wasn't stainless steel and was still fingerprint proof I wasn't too bothered. I had wanted silver but accepted the change in colour to grey.
When it arrived I was happy as it was silver grey and it was finger mark ... ...it to be. I called samsung who to my surprise were very helpful and organised an engineer. I was also to receive an extended warranty pack as there was a known fault with the Rs 21. However he did not divulge what it was. After seeing watchdog a few months ago I was well aware of the problem . The problem being they didn't keep their temperature.

Having purchased this model 3 years ago, I feel it fair to offer the reality of buying this model. It looks great and works superbly for 2 years...........However literally weeks outside its warrranty it started to make a whirring sound, we defrosted it which solved the problem. (although it was sold as a fridge that does not need defrosting!). 3 weeks after the intial defrosting the whirring noise occured again, upon calling 4 different fridge engineeers ... ...it constanly freezes up around the fan due to drainage problems. All 4 engineers explained that this model is renowned for this and none of them were willing to work on it. Pushing further, 1 engineer explained that the reason he would not work on it was that when he had worked on them previously they were (in his own words) a "nightmare" due to the components used being extremely easy to break and not easy to work on. We purchased this fridge 3 years ago, when we moved to our new home. We are very pleased with the performance and it's size. The fridge has remained in the house during extensive renovation and has been moved around on many occasions, hit with falling plaster and survived this admirably. We only organised the plumbing of the water and ice dispenser, just before Christmas 2006, when our new kitchen was finished. This is a "god send" having crushed ... ...the fridge was originally delivered the doors had to be removed to enable it to fit through a small doorway. Ensure that you know your door measurements and clarify how the carriers will get it into your specific location, at the point of ordering
The child lock is not particularly effective and the attraction of the Water and Ice dispenser to young children is strong.
Temperature control of the freezer and fridge has been good and automatic warnings ...

The Samsung jumped at me straight away, I loved the look of it, very sleek and clean design and the Samsung brand. It was on offer with over £300 off so I definitely had to take a look. The fridge was a dream, in description at least and cheap!
The Freezer is on the left and the Fridge is on the right, all the controls and the ice dispenser can be found on the freeezer door and the temperatures of fridge or freezer can be adjusted ... ...than all the competitors in a similar price range, apart from the excellent value was the Samsung standard 2 year warranty. I mean what more could you ask for, maybe fridge/freezers will feed the dog for me in about 50 years but until then this will do me nicely. ...

...re-occur. However, as far as Samsung themselves are concerned this is not a design fault and the £58 we have just had to spend on getting a small hole made bigger will not be refunded. As far as the engineer is concerned the problem we had was always likely to happen, a case of when rather than if and I guess we were unlucky it happened after the warranty expired. My advice? If you want this fridge then get an extended warranty or make friends with ... ...described was highlighted. I phoned Samsung on the 0800 number featured on Watchdog and they have registered me for the extended 5-yr warranty free of charge and will consider my claim for a refund on the repairs mentioned above. I phoned them about 5 days ago and nothing has arrived in the post yet but I live in hope. Even if you have not had this fault do still phone them and register for the warranty ...

I have been very pleased with this American Style fridge freezer with the added bonus of an automatic ice cube maker and water dispenser. The electronic temperature controls give a continuous readout of cabinet temperatures and the appliance is quiet and energy efficient. It offers fantastic value for money. I would have preferred a taller model with a larger frozen food compartment but all of these machines generally seem to be of similar dimensions. ...

This fridge-freezer is the best I have ever purchased. Once left to stand for 24 hours, it was turned on and the power cool was used. As the temperature inside the fridge freezer reduced, the digital display showed the actual temperature and the temperature that was required, so you could be positively sure when it was ok to use. In less than a few hours the fridge and freezer were cool enough to be used. The fridge compartment has a very large amount ... ...litre bottles, to cans, vegetables, ham/cheese drawers, salad drawers that keep the salad crisp and fresh, and also the shelves can be used at half of their size or they can be pulled out to their full size. As you have to have this fridge freezer plumbed into the water mains in order to use the ice maker, I have not done this yet so it is being used without the ice maker and it is working fine. Ok this is another impulse purchase, I when looking for a separate fridge & freezer and came out of the shop having ordered one of these.
Right first off these things are large, not just big, they really dominate a room. Remember when in huge electrical retailer you are in a very large space looking at a large item.
When considering one of these fridge freezers size has to be a big concern, I measured my kitchen several times and still under estimated ... ...is the other headache you have to contend with their is a water filter in a separate unit which needed to be mounted up-right and as the pipe work is under mains pressure it should really be fixed down. My best advice would be to plan you water pipe work route carefully before thinking about buying it. Remember you might need to drill and cut your kitchen in order to get the pipe work through.

I recently purchased a Samsung RS21DCSV, primarily as I finally had the space to house a big american style fridge freezer. The first problem was actually getting it inside my house - after taking the door off the hinges and the actual door frame off (and taking it out of its packaging), I finally managed to get it inside! So first off beware you may think you have space inside your house for it but check to see if it will fit through your doors!
... ...on the left hand side and the freezer on the right. Both are controlled using the digital controls on the front display and in addition, a rapid freeze and child lock can be found on the display - useful to stop babies/toddlers opening the doors when you are not looking! I like the fact that both doors give a beeping sound if they are accidentally left open, which should prevent any mass loss of spoilt food in future!
