...a free upgrade from my Samsung P400 to the recently released all singing all dancing Samsung D600, needless to say I bit their hands off!
• What's in the box? •
Firstly, and most importantly, you get the phone itself - an amalgamation of black plastic, rubber and chrome all squeezed into a unit measuring 96 x 46.5 x 21.5 mm which sits nicely in the palm of the hand. The weight is also low at 103 grams which means you won't be hauling ... ...between the phone and the Samsung PC studio program, which is also supplied on CD-Rom. There is also a cable which enables the phone to be connected to a TV to view photographs and video as well as a Sim card from your chosen network provider. The Samsung D600 is one of the best looking phones on the market, for me, right now. It is a slide open phone, meaning that you simply slide the top half up and the keypad appears underneath. I bought a Samsung D500 for my friend for Christmas, as he had been on about getting one for ages. After checking the handset out in several stores, it looked great.... Before you say anything - I know I know - this review is about the Samsung D600
Basically - I liked the D500 very much, and having just received a Nokia N90 ( check my review on this one ) I decided that I needed to have another phone, for personal use, slightly smaller, and ... ...then I came across the Samsung D600. I have always liked Samsung phones, as they usually have the design down to a tee.
On first impressions, the phone is near enough identical to the D500. The stylish black design has been carried forward, along with the cool slide function - that the D500 won awards for.

For someone who had only used basic Nokias in the past, this was a wonderland as (on paper) there were a lot of features, these included:
- 2 megapixel camera (1600 x 1200 pixels) with flash and digital zoom x4 that can be used to record videos too
- 262,144 colour TFT LCD display (240 x 320 pixels) - Music player - Java games - Bluetooth, TV out and USB

Samsung D600
Well here it is, eventually, my review about the Samsung D600. It's a great phone an even better phone than the one before it. Mainly because it's an upgrade. It has so many good features that are great and more even better functions/ Features. Its capabilities are so much more and can make your life a lot easier in the mobile world. As well as its great functionality it also has a new better and slim lined look from the phone previous.

The samsung D600 offers its user a wide range of features at the touch of a button. The phone has a 2 mega pixel digital camera and an mp3 player on it. The camera quality is really impressive for a camera phone and even in the dark the flash provides the user with quality pictures. The phone is really easy to use. The button you use for ending a call also acts as the power button and once you hold this down for a few seconds the phone loads up. ... ...than the one on the Samsung D600. The phone can store up to 1000 numbers on it with a further 200 more that can be saved onto the sim card. The phones memory consists of 81 megabytes but this can be expanded with a t-flash card that goes into the bottom left of the phone. The Samsung D600 at first glance for me is a good phone. I have been using it for over a year now, and I can safely say that it has been a valuable asset to me. I make phone calls on it regularly, and I find texting on it a breeze. My wife got me this phone for Christmas. First thought what came to me-Oh no another complicated phone. I just got used to my old V200 and I thought it would take me another two months to work it out. What a surprise when I turn it on. Look different but the manual is nearly the same as my V200. I was very happy that I got a phone that I can use. Now I'm playing with it every day. Everyday I've got something new on it- image, video or music.

The first thing to be done was to charge the phone. About 2-3 hours from dead and my screen told me it was now fully charged. Time to play!
Firstly let's talk about the camera! It's 2 megapixels and easily accessed by a small button on the side of the phone or via the menu if you so wish. I was suprised (and delighted) to find that it came with flash as I take many pictures inside at nightime(okay.. ... ...you want something a bit special, but aren't prepared to sit and read a manual for hours on end in order to work out how to make a call then I would suggest you take a look at this phone.
