Advantages: Stylish, thin and a phone! What more can you ask for? Disadvantages: Keypad can be irritating and battery life is short.
When Samsung introduced the new "Ultra Edition" phones I just had to get one. Rather than advertising the phones individually, they decided to promote them as a series, containing 3 phone types, the X820, D830 clamshell and the D900 slide phone. Quick review of Samsung SGH-D830 Review ofSamsung SGH D830by

this is a very slimline phone, so slim that my boyfriend struggles to open it! it looks very good and is easy to navigate, most of it is excellent. the keypad is a bit non-sensitive, but better than the motorola ones. the camera is excellent but doesn't have a flash, and once the battery gets to two bars it dies really quick.

Advantages: Slick, easy to carry around, stylish Disadvantages: touchscreen style keypad may be hard to press for some, no camera light
The D830 is a very good camera phone to take around, especially when you are going for events where you do not want to be seen carrying bulky items in your bag or pocket.
I was contemplating getting either the D900 or D830 but finally settled on the D830 as in my opinion, sliding phones tend to have more disadvantages such as accidentally calling someone while the phone is in your pocket. Caused by the phone sliding open and triggering the button.
But ...
