INTRO I got a bit fed up with my Samsung SGH-i600 as I found it a bit on the slow side and the lack of a touch screen limited what I can do on the Windows Mobile operating system. I selected the the Samsung SGH-i900 (aka: OMNIA) to be worthy of becoming the replacement. It's supposed to be an "iPhone killer" and similarly, has a full touch screen interface. I bought my Omnia on eBay for £366 to avoid increasing my contract cost with Orange. I threatened to leave orange so they gave me a £15 deal with 750 minutes talk time and unlimited texts but normally, if you were to get the Omnia with ... more

*NEGA REVIEW!* The Samsung Omnia is Samsung’s attempt in creating an all-in-one phone. They call it the Omnia because they were so confident that it could do everything, but the fact is it can’t. It is a bit like your dad, he tries to do everything but he sucks at most of them. Some would say that this phone is a mixed bag, but is it a mixed bag as per the classic term of good and bad, or is it one of these mixed bags where: your mum cleans up the cat litter and puts it into a bin bag, then your sister comes along and throws away her used tampons into that same bag. And then later, your ... more

The Samsung Omnia SGH-i900V I recieved my Samsung Omnia just over a month ago and to date it has been as impressive as the first day. It has many amazing features which i will explain later. However do note that samsung have not released the latest firmware for the phone, so some features you may have seen or heard about with the phones software may not be accesible unless you find and install the firmware update like i did. If you love using a PC, this is THE phone for you. Apparently the term Omnia means 'Everything' in Latin, and 'Wish' in Arabic, so the expectation associated to this new ... more

    Advantages Advantages Memory, Good camera

Disadvantages Disadvantages Annoying stylus, Internet, Hard to write texts

The first time I got the phone it looked fantastic - it was a good size and shape, a touch screen, a stylus (although this was weirdly situated on a string dangling off the phone.) It has a huge amount of memory on it, so far i've used 216.62 MB and I still have 15139.38 MB free! So there is definitly no problem with space on this phone. When I first purchased this phone it was quite expensive and I do not feel it lives up to its price. Getting your way around On the front screen which you get to first contains two touch sensitive buttons at the bottom saying phone and main menu. The phone ... more

INTRO: "The Samsung SGH-i900, also known as Omnia I or WiTu (in Russia only), is a mobile phone released by Samsung Mobile. Announced in June 2008, the Omnia was launched in Singapore in mid-June, available in stores on the 20th of June, and in the rest of Asia in July. For some parts of Europe, it was launched in August. The American version launched in December 2008 through Verizon Wireless while the Canadian version launched in April 2009 through Telus Mobility." (from Wikipedia) DESIGN: At first glance, I was amazed by the design of the Omnia. This sleek phone comes in 'Modern Black'. It ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fussy handling on some applications and takes a little getting used to.

I feel rather guilty beginning a review of a product by mentioning another, far more popular one, but that is what I am going to do. I wanted an iPhone. As soon as my last contract was up I was down the O2 store enquiring as to what packages they could offer to lure me away, blah, blah, blah. Of course O2 know they have you by the short and curlies; you want an iPhone you put up and shut up and jump on board with them. So I went back to my provider and explained the dilemma. I want to leave, unless you can do something pretty special. I won't bore you with the details of my price plan, but it ... more

I was very excited when I received .my shiny new Samsung Omnia in the post. At first look it seems to be a very sleek and stylish phone with a nice big screen. I bought this phone based on the fact that it seemed to do pretty much anything, it had so many functions, and to me, the more the better. The Omnia battery life seemed decent and the built in 8MP camera was actually very impressive, boasting a huge variety of functions, much more than my current digital camera. I loved the panoramic funtion on the camera enabling you to easily put almost a 180 degree view into one picture. Because the ... more

Overall the Omnia is an excellent phone. I chose it over the Sony-Ericson Xperia, and the recent HTC phones. I have no regrets on the purchase but I'm going to outline what I think are the best and worst aspects of the phone. First, display, video, call quality and reception are all fantastic. Battery life is decent. The phone is pretty fast too - no laggy menus, and the menus themselves are pretty well laid out. Camera is fantastic and has a bright LED flash. It has an accelerometer so you can rotate the phone and the display rotates too for landscape video/photo viewing. All good! The ... more
