Advantages: easy to use; nice-sized; excellent instructions; good earphones Disadvantages: need to connect to pc or usb mains charger to recharge!
...USING THE PLAYER:
The Samsung player is fairly easy to use and involves lightly touching the keypad on the front of the player itself, which takes some getting used to at first, especially when scrolling through a playlist! Best advice is not to press too firmly as you will end up scrolling past the track you are looking for! The buttons on the touchpad are self-explanatory with the usual icons for play, pause, power, skip and the cursor to scroll ... ...The instructions for the Samsung are on the installation disc provided when you purchase the player. These are clearly written and leave you with no doubt as to how to do 'x' 'y' and 'z.'
The earphones supplied with the player are very similar to those supplied with ipods. I'm old-fashioned and prefer traditional headphones but I found the earphones supplied a cut above the rest as they fit in my ears nicely and don't tend to fall out, even when ...

Quick review of Samsung YP-Z5A
why excellent? because: good radio, manual equalizer, smooth and nice looking menu, easy controls, sorting by tags and folders, works as a memory storage device, stylish look, solid aluminium case, GREAT sound quality and very long battery life ...
Advantages: Looks great, sounds great, feels great, is great! Disadvantages: Now discontinued, few awkward niggles
NOTE: This product (as far as I know) has been discontinued, but you may still find it on a few online retailers.
Bought the YP-Z5 earlier this year at a cost of £80 to replace my second broken Creative Micro (just don't buy!). Anyway so far Im impressed:
Build:
First thing you notice when you take this out of the box is how good it looks. Its made of stainless steel and brushed metal and it has a sturdy, robust feel. Although not as tiny and ... ...and weight as It fits well in the palm. The player uses a combination of touch controls and buttons. The central touch-pad works very easily and isn't half as bad as people make out it to be, after a few minutes practice it feels natural. Another nice feature is the seperate metal volume control on the side, which saves you accidently blasting your music when trying to change songs (happens many times on other MP3 players!).
Sound Quality:

Advantages: Clear music, great screen, good battery Disadvantages: No plug, the manual is vertually useless
...tons of FAQ's on the samsung website to do with the YP-Z5 and I would probably have been lost without them! I really don't see why Samsung didn't provide a decent manual.
The battery lasts for quite a long time, but you have to charge it via USB lead, and they don't give you a plug which is very inconvenient when travelling abroad. Because of this, I had to purchase a plug adaptor. It didn't cost much, but it would have been a lot easier if they ... ...well, it is very clear. The volume goes quite high - so much that you can hear it without putting the earphones in if you are in a quiet room! The buttons are easy to use, and the up, down and enter buttons are touch-sensitive which gives it a little bit exra something. You can connect to a computer very easily and you can even add pictures to the mp3.
Overall, I think this is a grat little gadget and I'm very glad I got it. I would reccommend it ...

...i cam to buy the samsung YP - Z5.
This mp3 has everything you could want on an mp3 player. it looks great. it is a thin design. Comes in a range of colours which i believe are black, silver, and pink, and maybe white. It has a large screen far bigger than ipods have and has a brightly coloured screen. you can also persnoalise the background which also helps it suit the requirements. It has the hold button on the top of the mp3 which you can switch ... ...situated at the top of the mp3. The volume buttons to turn it up and down are on the right hand side of the mp3 and fit in quite well there. The directional buttons are touch buttons..So they only ned to be tapped..But the buttons around the dierctional buttons are not touch and are regualr ones.
The headphones are well designed and allow the music to go very loud. It is able to hold colour pictures and a large number of songs. It has to be charged ...

Advantages: Good-looking, great picture quality, easy to manage music files, great sound quality, scratch-proof Disadvantages: A little overpriced for the capacity, battery life not too great
I've had this Samsung 4GB MP3 player for a year now and even though I use an iPod Classic, the Samsung YP-Z5A is an excellent little gadget with plenty of extras. Good Points: The quality of the screen is excellent - good, crisp images which are lovely and bright (brightness can be changed with the settings). It's easy to navigate - with a sensitive touch pad to scroll through songs easily but also "firm" buttons to press which add to the ease of ... ...and easily controlled with buttons at the side. Rounded edges and a scratch/fingermark resistant surface makes this an attractive looking player. The headphones that came with it were also nice-looking, but ended up breaking (read on!). Putting music files on to this player is pleasingly easy - as we all know, there's nothing worse than sitting for hours trying to work stuff out. This player uses the "drag and drop" method, which is so easy you can't ...

...20 hours.
Software:
This samsung MP3 player uses Windows Media Player to Sync to te device and add songs. This is good for people who have their songs already in Windows Media Player, but for those of you who have their music in iTunes, it will mean you have to add it all to Windows Media Player to add songs to the player.
Screen:
The screen is a good size (bigger than the iPod nano), but the quality is not exceptional, the display is slightly ... ...Appearance:
Well... this comes down to opinion really, but in my opinion it looks better than the nano, more stylish with the metal trim around the centre of the player.
Other:
One other thing to note, is that the player doesn't come with an AC Adaptor/Wall Charger, so if you're going far from a computer with USB Port (such as on holiday) you'll need to invest in a USB Mains Adaptor to charge it (around £10) ...

I bought this Mp3 player nearly a year ago now, and it is still working as well as it did when i bought it. The size is one of it's best features, it is small and compact yet not too small that you would lose it. The buttons and navagation around the Mp3 player is good but it did take some getting used to, but i suppose you get that with everything when it is new. The screen is of great quality for the size of the player. The player can also store ...

Advantages: Good battery life, and music quality Disadvantages: None
The Sansung YP-Z5 is a stunning music player, not just in looks it boasts an immense 1 gig memory, although it is possible depending on how much you are willing to pay to get up to 4 gig. The player itself will play MP3 or WMA tracks, with stunning quality. Though in my opinion the best bit by far is the battery life, at a push with low brightness you could get it to last almost 48 hours useage. This in my opinion beats an ipod in all areas (except ...

Advantages: Small and compact Disadvantages: Have to purchase additional charger to charge from the wall
I only have the 1GB version of this MP3 player and can still store well over 200 songs on it. I decided to buy this MP3 player on the spur of the moment at duty free with left over holiday money not knowing anything about it and I haven't been disappointed. It was easy to get up and running and transfer music accross from my laptop to the mp3 player using the included software. The only thing I haven't quite mastered is ripping files directly into ... ...still using microsoft media play for this. The only thing I do find a bit annoying is that the only charger that comes with it as a usb charger meaning I have to attach it to a pc, but a quick trip onto ebay and the purchase of a usb charger adaptor and the problem was soon sorted.
Bonus to have the radio but reception is highly dependent on location, only a few places were I have tried to tune it were it can actually pick up any stations.

I bought this from a website just over a year ago as I wanted to be different to everyone else and their ipods. Also I wanted this one as it was cheaper than an ipod and you could choose your own backgroud including from your own pictures. I like the long battery life as well and the fact that you can change the volume whenever (unlike ipods). Additionally i like the fact that when the mp3 is locked and off it shows the lock sign. I purchased this from currys as part refund on the logik hd60 which was terrible, but back to the samsung. when i first got it i was buzzing, but as i used it about 3 days later i was shocked to notice that what i thought was a high quality product was starting to degrade as if id had it for years, if you look at the picture of the player it has a middle dial and a square border with buttons on ,well this appears to be some sort of metal, and some ...

I got the 4GB player for my christmas, I love it! its sleek and holds loads of songs with good sound quality! Fast and easy to use with an excellent battery life. Has capacity to hold and display photos on either a background or slideshow.
